I disagree - we were still a big club when he was in charge, not long before big enough to sign huge stars like Waddle, Lineker and Gazza.
He was then there at the start of the PL goldrush........and even had inside knowledge of the Sky deal and personally benefited from it
All the conditions were right for us to be one of the clubs that lead the way

Made me laugh when Alan Sugar says "fantastic, brilliant" when Levy is waxing lyrical about all the things we have in the stadium. He sounds like he's choking on his words at all the fantastic things his predecessor has done which he never would have dreamed of.
Carlito Brigante some perspective would be great, we're all disappointed we're not in when they said but this is a stadium that'll service us for decades. Who cares over a matter of months??

I'm always amazed by how quick progress is, but also that there seem to be big gaps in progress whether caused by 'preparation work' such as installing framework for the veil, or waiting for more deliveries of the veil or whatever other unknown reason why progress isn't happening for a couple of days.
But progress there is, even if not linear.
Here is the veil and installed TV screen on the west side today - and the picture below is from 3 weeks ago on 21 October

With luck, within the next week the TV screen will have been tested and the veil on the rest of the West side completed - we are now a good 75% complete.
East side is much further behind, but much of the framework is in place, so when the contractors start with a bit of momentum it could be completed within 3 - 4 weeks.
The South stand seems to be enormously more complicated framework with veil pieces almost individually crafted to fit, but visually it looks as if the vast majority of framework is in place - so crossing fingers and toes its all coming together within that 3-4 week timescale !
But progress there is, even if not linear.

And to put things into perspective the veil work which is not essential from a 'safety' perspective should/can be complete well before the Man U game in 2 months time as will any other external work. So it really does come down to that 'critical safety systems' remedial work to be completed

Always a surprise to me that usually the same people complaining that DL wouldn't 'put his hand in his pocket' to sign more players were the ones saying Levy wasn't trying hard enough to get NWHL open - despite the fact that with £2m or £3m to rent Wembley per match plus loss of sponsorship/advertising revenue fro not being at NWHL etc so quite possibly Wembley costing £5m per match....which Levy wouldn't stomach if he had a choice. And they can't see the dichotomy.
