I guess Pochettino knows he is more than capable of playing there and he's now seeing if he can handle LWB in this role at Spurs. Him being able to play both positions would be very good for him and the team.
I imagine KWP will move over to the right at half time and Davies will come on for Trippier.

Onomah is still not playing where he usually plays, in a 2 in central midfield.
He's either playing right or No10 role isn't he?

He's playing in the same position Eriksen does whenever we play 3 at the back. Centrally.
It'll clearly be:

As that mimics how we played last season but with Onomah being used as the creativity in the attacking role instead of Eriksen.Carter-Vickers - Alderweireld - Vertonghen

Maybe Pochettino realises Onomah is no where near Dier, Dembele, Wanyama or Winks and simply wants him to strengthen himself in other positions (wide or further forward) because he feels he probably has more chance there? What's the point playing him centrally when he's our fifth choice central midfielder?
Onomah should be in a more natural spot in this formation. Would like to see him play even deeper if Dembele gets subbed out.
Odd that Dier is playing infront of a back 3, hope were playing a 3142 with Eric spraying the ball and Onomah and Dembele infront
