Fuck :avbfacepalm: We already have Aaron Lennon for that.
'And Lennon is clean away here only the keeper to beat! He slips it square... Holtby!!! ..takes a touch and gives it back to Lennon, it must be! No, Lennon crosses it back for Holtby to tap in.. he passes it back to Lennon. Both players look completely bewildered'

We've signed an injury prone player?!
Nah, he just felt his thigh and didn't train for 2-4 days. He hasn't missed a single Bundesliga game this season.
Bad news are, that Affellay is out for 2 month, Horst Heldt (Schalke manager) says he might not let Holtby move in January and that we haven't contacted Schalke about a winter move ..

Holtby said:
Speaking exclusively to Sunday Mirror Sport from Schalke’s winter training camp in Qatar, the German Under-21 captain said: “Tottenham have got some big aims that I want to help them achieve.
“The club has really progressed and they are establishing themselves as a top-four team.
“In the future, and if the players stick around, then of course Tottenham can challenge for the title,” Holtby added. “I’m not predicting it will definitely happen, but it is certainly something we can aim for. I have big goals and I want to win trophies with Tottenham.
“Tottenham is the whole package, I am convinced of that after speaking to the manager Andre Villas-Boas and chairman Daniel Levy.
“The club, the team and the infrastructure are all superb. It’s a quality set-up. That’s where Tottenham should be, up the top and I’m so excited that I will be a part of it.
“If you are asking me who the exciting Spurs players are, then I would have to name the whole team because it’s full of stars.
“To play with and compete with these guys will improve my game, for sure.”
“I was a bit young to properly remember Jurgen Klinsmann at Tottenham, but I know he is a legend of the club,” said Holtby.
“He joined the club with big expectations and everybody thought ‘he’s a German diver’. But he scored his first goal, made the dive in celebration and that made him very popular .
“He’s a legend in Germany and at Tottenham, so it’s great to be joining the club he played for.
“I know Steffen Freund from his time working with the German national set-up.
“We’ve had conversations and it will be good to work with him. It will also be nice to have another German lad at the club, even though I consider myself half-English.
“It shouldn’t be a problem for me to adapt. My dad’s sister, his brother and my nan live in Bedford. My cousin’s family are big Tottenham fans. I have a lot of family in the area, which will make me more comfortable.
“There are also the German lads, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker, at Woolwich and that will make the rivalry even better for me.
“The north London derby is already something I am looking forward to – and with those German boys it will be extra-special.”

'Reportedly' he can join this month if Spurs pay a £1.6 million fee (Daily Fail).

If true (and it does make sense for it to be) then FUCKING DO IT. We need a player who does exactly what he does right now. It is not worth Levy passing up a golden opportunity to consolidate our campaign just to prove a point about how good at drumming up value he is.

Don't read into any of this move to Everton gossip. He's signed a pre-contract which cant be broken and if so Levy will take him to school!
My understanding is that a pre-contract only relates to a move in the summer, that he could in fact agree to a move right now with Everton.

However, I do agree that it is a non-story. The journos have just discovered that he grew up an Everton fan and are fishing for a story.

As an FM veteran my understanding of a pre-contract is that come hell or high water Lewis Holtby will be a Tottenham player on 01/07/13.

Yes!! That annoying message when you think you've got yourself a bargain, so you click 'Approach to Sign' and that god damn message comes up saying, 'So and So has already accepted a contract from So and So'. Frustrated isn't the word... But yep, we've got him in the summer no problem.

I think Schalke have the right to sell the rest of his contract, so say he joins Everton they will pay Schalke a small transfer fee and then Holtby's wages for only 6 months, 2 of those months he won't even kick a ball. Sounds pretty retarded for Everton to even consider doing it. This is why it won't happen, not forgiving the fact it's desperate "journalism"
