Systems. Johnson played as the main outlet in a deep block and counter side. Mitoma played in a system far more like ours. As we are seeing, in games where we are dominating territory and squeezing teams back, Johnson's straight line running is pretty moribund. Mitoma's 1 v 1 ability to dribble at/past people when faced up could be extremely useful tool, against deep blocks. he's also better without the ball than Johnson.

LOL

We're not the richest club in London, we make the most revenue not the most profit.

I knew some people would weaponise that click bait statement. 🤦‍♂️

Well... I get what you mean, and I don't like to use this fact as weapon either.

But we ARE richest club in London BASED ON PREVIOUS YEAR financials. Our revenue is the biggest while our salary-bill is lowest of the big competitors. AND our debt is almost exclusively long-term WITH very low fixed rates.

Only chance how other clubs could be considered richer is if Chelsea managed to sell their loan-army-players for higher profit (and also Havertz-Mount sales impact).

That being said, with no European football and less matches as well, we will NOT retain that position for next financial year.

In tandem, I want all fucking dissent and crowding of refs to be stopped completely.
This. Absolutely.

I cannot stand it when that happens. When I played, if I had teammates doing that, I'd go friggin ballistic at them. Back the fuck off, let your captain handle it.

That's the way it should he...captains only. The first player without the armband who approaches the ref, boom...yellow card. Same for dissent.

Refs explaining themselves at the end of games is summit that shoulda been implemented years ago already.

I still watch a wee porn when in a relationship ha ha
You like wee porn?

Good move but I don't just want them to explain VAR decisions. I want refs to explain big decisions post match.

In tandem, I want all fucking dissent and crowding of refs to be stopped completely. I also want the media to tone down criticism too.
I don't understand this tbh.

I'd like to live in a world where referee's are good enough and honest enough that they're in a position where they deserve this much respect.

But we're not in that world. They're appalling, either through inability to perform their job or worse, being bent. I hate to say it, but if they were just given the utmost respect, and everyone let them carry on without question or criticism, they would never improve and would likely get worse.
It would be like letting children do what they want without any fear of recrimination, and then wondering why they ended up a delinquent by their teens.

They tried to bring that in a few years ago, but it only lasted a couple of games.

I remember managers making excuses for their players (a Pardew interview sticks in my memory) claiming ‘passion’ and ‘it’s how they play’ bollocks.

I’m broadly of the opinion that authorities actively do not want to stop it as it’s one of the main parts of the football pantomime. As you say, it would be a piece of piss to enforce. And players would very quickly learn.

So I agree with some of that, I'd leave Emerson alone. ,I like the suggestion of Ling jr at LWB, I would also suggest Hiroki Ito he can cover LWB and CB. I agree with PEH and GLC out and I'm happy to give Divine a shot. Biss I would leave as is but his discipline needs fixing.

Timo is just free cover for Son, he has very little time to impress, he's out. Solomon, I think should go too, we need a higher level.

CF, I'm happy with Richie, if he gets service he will score and as back up Veliz. He showed what he could do against Brighton. There will be more games next season for him to play.

Agree with the suggestion of back up keeper, so that's 5 players to bring in during the summer which is a big stretch
5 players is doable. We got the mullah. We ain't talking signing 5 superstars either. And that's what we need after years of squad mismanagement.

Plus if Frase, Reggy, Sess, Japh, Spence, Joe R, Pierre, GLC, Tanguy & Gil leave...here's hoping 🤞🏻🙏🏻...you gotta bring a few new bodies in.

I'd forgotten about Veliz. I still think he could do with a loan to a bottom half PL/top Champo contender. See what Ange thinks of Troy, Dane, Donley, Yago, Jude, Dorrie...be good to fully integrate Devine & another Academy kid or two, then send the other top prospects on good loans a la Port Vale.

They tried to up the ante THIS year. And so far the only player I've seen booked for it during Spurs matches is Maddison. Twice. Opposition players seem to do whatever they want.
And the same goes for kicking the ball away. Seen one or two of ours get yellows whilst watching other teams do it at least once a game

Again, refs are fucking appalling and ruining our game.

Kvaratskhelia yes.

I've always been a fan of Leao since his Lille days, on his day he can be unplayable, but he does have days where he just isn't on it, and he's really fucking slack without the ball.

I like Mitoma. I think he's exactly what we need. Technically good, hard working, productive.
Fuck Leao, let PSG have that prima donna a la Neymar. Can be unplayable, yes, but he's also a lazy, self-absorbed prick.

The good news from this transfer window is that no teams really improved their starting sides except maybe West ham with Phillips. Most teams just tried to improve their bench and loaned more players out. We needed to strengthen a couple of spots and did that early on. The next window will be huge for a lot of clubs I think.

From the BBC 'gossip' page

Tottenham are considering a £50m move for Bournemouth's 26-year-old English striker Dominic Solanke. (Sun)

Tottenham may make a late bid to sign 23-year-old England midfielder Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. (Guardian)

IMO I think we may have done all our business.

I think, if we take into consideration it was the January window, and look what business other clubs have done, i think this was an 8 out of 10 window!

We took care of our most pressing needs(no not that you perverts)

We were never gonna find a high calibre striker in January anyway!

And we can take care of the rest in the summer!
