Left wing: chadli isn't good enough, he was never going to be, you get what you pay for. And he's 8m.

Right wing: Lennon was/is more than good enough. Now we have to wait for lamela to bed.

Holding mid: Sandro and Parker were ample first choice back up, Capoue...the only point in his signing was cock blocking the scum.

Attacking mid: This is where we should have spent BIG. A real modric upgrade, instead we got a youngster....more potential that may / may not come good.

Defence: no replacement for BAE, no backup for Rose and Walker. Now we have four decent CBs...two wasted each week.

It's a mess alright.

I'll give you your point about the defense and the LW (until Chadli proves me otherwise), but Capoue is our best signing yet to hit the field and there weren't any options available that were better than Eriksen. Both of them for 20 million pounds? IMO, pretty solid window.

You do realize you successfully make yourself an idiot having these two as your opening two sentences. It's not like we spent 100,000 on Lennon and he is now "more than good enough," but an 8m player isn't good enough. So you can throw that argument completely out. Chaldi has played 3 (competitive) games for us. 3 games is not a big enough sample size. And I also think he has been quietly good.

Scott Parker is not the type of player that AVB wants. Last season he didn't look the same player as he was in 11/12. Even going back to 11/12, he isn't the type of CDM that AVB wants. Capoue was a very, very good buy.

You can't blame this on Levy/AVB/Baldi/anyone. We had a bid of 30m+ for Willian accepted, and chelsea stole him. We bid 35m+ for Mata. We clearly recognized this issue and tried to fix it. Over the past 8 months we have bought two players who are both Under-21's and both are top CM prospects in the world. Holtby and Eriksen have shown in CL they are the real deal. Two very good buys, both for under 13m combined.

Backup for Rose is Fryers, Vertonghen, Naughton - in that order, imo.
Backup for Walker is Naughton, Kaboul, Vlad.

This year we have a healthy Kaboul and a more experienced and settled Fryers. Fryers will allow Naughton to play RB and Kaboul can help out at RB if Naughton/Walker get hurt or need a rest.

Lennon was a kid at a bankrupt club, his value has nothing to do with this.

Fryers and naughton are in no way good enough....in fact rose isn't and playing CBs at wing back reduces attacking threat.

We need to take the rose tinted specs off lads
 
We tried to buy Willian, got cock blocked, and still got Eriksen. I'm not blown away by our summer signings like most people but you can't say we didn't look to and manage to addressing our need for an AM. Especially given we already have Holtby as well

How about Gareth bale? Only payed like 8m also, so was his value 8m? How about Vertonghen? We only payed about 10m for him, does that mean he is a 10m value? Both Bale's and Vertonghen's prices have skyrocketed. That point is complete bullshit, similar to your whole post. Chadli just turned 24 and moved to a new league. We haven't even come close to seeing his best.

Our 20 year old prospect LB isn't good enough and our 24 year old backup right back isn't good enough. Sorry we can't have a WC player in every single position. We aren't bank rolled by a Russian billionaire, we can't afford to have a great player at every single position and backup. We have the most complete squad we have had in recent time, yet you bang on about our LB prospect and our backup RB.
