Thank you. First of all i love football. Good football, something i found with Tottenham. I'm not blind to economics but when that interferes with the game i loose interest. So i guess for me the quality matters most, but do i want us to revert back to mid table? Facts show that is where we are at. Sudden blips on the radar dont make no nuclear sub. I think it's mor of a money game now than anything.Call me old fashion but i enjoy a match where the players actually care.

I agree but if you don't move forward you inevitably move backwards. Apart from the new stadium, I don't really see what has changed at the club. It's had only 2 NFL games so it can't be seen as a 'sports' brand as such and the old stadium sadly was outdated, wouldn't have appealed to a certain quality of modern player and would have seen us maybe £50m worse off each season which would have seen our club fall behind the times.

People forget that the big European clubs have far more competition than they aren't used to now. The big teams all of a sudden have the likes of Man City & PSG to contend with, teams like RB Leipzig who add competition to signings, Liverpool are back to being a massive club through a combination of great business selling and buying etc. Not even Man U can compete these days so I'd hate to imagine how many of our top earners (Kane, Sonny) would have not seen enough from us as a club if we didn't invest in ways to make money further long term.

Football for all clubs has changed. If people don't get used to it they will dwell and miss out on what happens now by staying in the past. A prime example is West Ham....yes the souls of the club has been smashed to pieces but without the move they could and would have been in deep financial trouble (they were £100m in debt before the move and will be still roughly £75m in debt at the end of the financial year).

A globalised game gives us better quality, which is evidence in the fact England had all four European finalists this year, the first time in history that has ever happened to any country but with global demand, the game will ultimately have to and need to change). We could never stand still, we could only go backwards it is what's is it, as a club we are doing the right thing.

I am not british, i just ended up here. Moved as soon as i got my head right, but Tottenham always felt at home. Money seems like the biggest factor now. Look at Eriksen, a guy i played against in youth football.
I don't blame him or any other footballer. Go run and get that money. But what is left for us? The fans paying low wages, angling for a day out on the one day off. What about us?

I'd prefer some rich guy who can afford it to pay for it all, rather than us non wealthy fans.

According to Companies House, Man City have an overall Profit & Loss of -£614,712,000. Chelsea have Profit & Loss reserves that total -£680,748,000

Both teams are closer to being £1bn in debt than they are being debt free. Do you honestly think when the time comes Sheikh Mansour and Abramovic will be writing that kind of dough off as bad debt or that it's a genuinely viable business model for most people in the world should anyone show an interest in buying the club?

Maniac football clubs have altered reality for everyone. We really are one of the best run clubs it's just a shame it has come at a time when mental teams have added more competition making it harder to achieve.

If we are in the money race. Lets do a GO FUND ME towards buying a winner. Sky is the limit sorting the black from the white(not race related)

I am not from London and didn't grow up with a father who bled lily-white.

I was brought in by global expansion of the PL and Fox Sports.

I would love to see Spurs live, in their new digs, next to any supporter no matter the length they have supported.

The sport is a global game and the biggest teams are really good at spreading their brand.

Just because new supporters come in, doesn't mean they are only there for the spectacle. Some might be, but I would assume most love the game first, and then identified a club to support.

So what if the brand grows and brings in new people? Kind of xenophobic and protectionist to think it is a bad thing.

Pau Gasol just critiqued the NBA for the style of play and how it doesn't represent "traditional" play. Get over it and enjoy the ride.
I started supporting the club because my dad is a Tottenham fan, but you have to accept not every foreign fan is like you and I. The ones that come on here are obviously passionate with a connection to the club, but I myself know a bunch of Spurs fans who don't regularly watch games and I can tell if they went to the new ground they would spend more time filming then singing. That's the harsh reality of it - most foreign fans fall under that description.

Generalizations are fun aren't they.

God for bid people travel and film some things.

I just go off what I see. For ages people have said Chelsea will go bust, Just you wait & see, Roman will get bored etc. That was about 10 years ago. I don't think City or Chelsea will be left in a mess by their current owners. But we shall see. So far so good.

The whole concept of football was to compete on the field. Now it seems the players and actual quality of play comes second hand. Wages are ridiculous. Stadiums fit for a theme park more than a match. But hey
It caters to the young.Bright flashing lights and all that

It sounds like you might be happier supporting a team in the 6th division. Premier League money is here to stay. Pouting about it won't help.

Manchester United has been getting stick for beeing a tourist attraction rather than a football club.
Is this where we as Tottenham Hotspur is going?
Most PL clubs are both. Except Spam. It’s just a cheap place to sit under cover and saves heating the caravan.

Our core identity is still there. We’re still in N17. Our fan base is diluted by tourists, but that is how we will grow our support.

Football in is now a million miles away from the proletarian passion that it used to be.

In the space of 50 years it has moved to a largely middle class passtime.

Sky, half and half scarves, and tourist fans.

It's all about money.

Look no further

I think it's something that's happened to the Premier League in general (maybe even the Championship for clubs like Newcastle and Aston Villa). People from all over the world are able to watch matches in a way that wouldn't have been possible 30 years ago and it's only natural to expect them to develop the same passions that we do.

The days of "you can't be a true fan unless your father took you there by the hand at the age of five and you instantly fell in love" are gone. You can be a fan without ever visiting the stadium. I fully admit to being a product of 90s commercialism; there was no encouragement from either of my parents; all I got whenever I brought it up was "Uh, what do you know about football?" I taught myself everything I know about the game and fought for everything I've got out of it and feel that my passion is as strong as any season ticket holder's. I've been to White Hart Lane four times and have yet to see the new stadium but as long as you follow the matches and care about what happens, you're a fan.

we will never be a united or city, you need to win a shitload of trophies to garner that kind of bullshit support from home and abroad and we are miles away from having gloryhunters 'supporting' us.
