The point has been made before and I think it's partly to blame.
He doesn't have a set position and combined with having new players (Bergwijn) and Lucas playing an unfamiliar position. A lack of stability at the base of midfield - the patterns of play are not there. He could be moved higher up the pitch but without someone like kane to play off he's useless.
There's no legislating the chances he missed against villa. But with the lack of familiarity with other players up front, the best he can do is run around a bit. He wasn't in the game at all against Leipzig and had no idea positionally where to be.

Dele is a good player, just that he isn't one that shines in an overall "average" team
But then again our club is cursed with a surprisingly big segment of deluded fans who also think the club will get better if we sell Kane,Moura or Son. Oh and not to forget the Lamela worshippers..,,
See that’s what’s funny where you have people mocking Lamela who gives everything for every second he plays and creates due to his work rate.
But that’s not good enough because “Dele scored 7” but did fuck all else.
You know when Dele is allowing people to waltz past him, and not chasing passes and losing possession and ruining counter attacks and moaning at his teammates and trying to flick everything and missing sitters, you do realise that is detrimental right?
You did realise that if Lamela has the game time Dele had, we would actually be a better team.
Dele is for the stat purist, and to be honest I don’t even see why 8 goals in 30 matches is being wanked about.
Moura has 7 goals and 3 assists in 2100 minutes
Dele has 8 goals and 4 assists 2300 minutes
Moura got 15 goals and 2 assists last season in 3100 minutes
Dele got 7 goals and 8 assists in 2900 minutes
No one cracking one off about Moura though. Apparently he’s shit and shouldnt start games, despite having the highest work rate in the squad and still producing equal or better stats than Dele in less game time.
Very simple. Who plays and gives us more than Alli at present?
Work rate fine but goals and goal threat?

You can't justify a player selection based on 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons. One should take into account last 18 months and also the last 2 games against Villa and RBL.
