I'm sure Carlito Brigante will be along in a minute. :baletroll:

I think it's a great idea, give those who can't usually make it a chance to come along and meet friends. Levy must love all those tickets for next gen and uefa games flying out the door.

It's like having a reserve game....for fans...knocking on the ticket offices door, staking a claim.

Well done 1882

That is genuine trolling though.

Not just making a shit joke then putting

In other news, i got my ticket confirmation today for Thursday's game and I'm very excited for it.

Who else would like to talk about how excited they are rather than the other shit? :avbpray:

Good day Mr Spooky,

With warm heart I offer my friendship, and my greetings, and I hope this letter meets you in good time.

It will be surprising for you to receive this proposal from me since you do not know me personally.

However, I am sincerely seeking your confidence in this transaction, which I, propose with my free mind and as a person of integrity.

A) It is practically impossible for me to carry out this business alone.

B) You live in a foreign land far away from mine.

This should normally not be a requirement, but when you understand the transaction then you will understand why it is important that you live far away from me.

C) The amount of money involved in this transaction is Fifteen Million one hundred thousand united states dollars (US$15,100,000.00) which is too much for a man of modest means like myself to handle in my country.

I believe from my few points above, you can begin to get an idea why I need your participation.I am writing you in respect of a foreign customer who has a Domicillary account in my bank.

His name was Engineer Frank oliver. He was among those who died in a plane crash, Since the demise of this our customer, Engineer Frank oliver, who was an oil merchant and import/exporter, I have kept a close watch of the deposit records and accounts and since then nobody has come to claim the money in this a/c as next of kin to the late Engineer.

He had only Fifteen Million one hundred thousand united states dollars(US$15,100,000.00) in his account and the account is coded.

It is only an insider that could produce the code of the deposit particulars.

As it stands now, there is nobody in that position to produce the needed information other than my very self considering my position in the bank.

Based on the reason that nobody has come forward to claim the deposit as next of kin,I hereby ask for you to send an application to the bank as he next of kin to the deceased and get this fund transfered into your foreign bank a/c for mutual sharing between myself and you,%5 for charity, 5% for expences we will incure just in case, 35% for you and 55% for me.

All I need is for you to follow my instructions closely because I am experienced in inheritance matters here and i am on ground here to advice you on every step until you receive the money.

What is required of you is to send an application to the bank as next of kin to the late Engineer and I promise you that everything will go smoothly.

I also indulge you not to make undo use of the information given to you, I need also to trust that you will not tell people or your bank about this business.

You will collect the money first, then I get my share, then you can tell anybody what you chose thereafter.I shall need your help to invest in your country therefore, any experience you have in this area will be beneficial.

Please feel free to call me on my direct telephone number for any question or further explanations if required and upon the receipt of your favourable responses I shall send to you a text of application which you shall send to the Bank putting claim over the deceased fund.

Yours truly,

Mr Someareteeth

I think there's a direct correlation between our ongoing recent on field success and loss of atmosphere; the way I've always viewed the 1882 mission statement was that successful or not, winning or losing, home or away, support for the club and the shirt should be unwavering. I can't see which part of that deserves criticism? Even it wasn't a Tottenham supporters group that had started it, and it was the aim of a club elsewhere, the very sentiment of it all is deeply admirable.

Is it ambitious? yes.
Is it tinged in romanticism? yes.
Does it fall in line with the philosophy of the club? yes.
Is it achievable? yes.

I imagine the people that find reason to complain are the same type of supporter that deems it's acceptable to boo your own team and send players abuse of twitter; in the same way you can't pick your family you can't hand pick the people that support your club either, unfortunately.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a northern armchair supporter that can't get to as many games as he'd like to.

I think there was probably a bit of resistance to it from the Maribor game because some fans in Park Lane lower, who may have been going to the Lane for 30 years, were suddenly being told that "they used to sing down there" by a section of the ground that don't normally make that kind of noise. They may have thought "who are this lot to tell me how to behave", and thinking "where are you lot on every other match day", not realising that most of the 1882 are either ST holders who moved their seats or at least regulars at the Lane. Obviously those kind of chants were meant in good spirits, but a few people may have taken it the wrong way. I can't see it being a problem on Thursday because everyone will be together in Park Lane and it won't feel like a 'them and us' situation. I think the Panathanaikos game is going to go off really well for 1882 and for the Lane in general.

I think you should all stop singing songs like this one to be honest

I personally dont have a problem with it, but a lot of football fans are sensitive and it can create a divide which isn't gonna help anyone. I know it was only a laugh, but some people don't get it, so it's a dangerous zone if our aim is to improve the general atmosphere at The Lane. I know I've posted this before, but I feel the need to repeat it because it's important. I believe the 1882 movement only will be succesfull if it's members behave in a way that Flav and a few others are suggesting.

I'm a season ticket holder by the way, and travel to a lot of games. But because I live abroad I give all the Europa league home games a miss(only go to the away ones). But if this 1882 movement continues I hope to join you one day.

Good luck!

I just don't think it needs a label.

We're just a bunch of like-minded Spurs fans going to a game...

Does it matter if there is 5, 10 or 500 of us?

I'm not sure calling it a 'movement' will endear anyone to it (should that necessarily be a motivation). I heard about this through someone on a separate forum prior to the Charlton game, my intention wasn't anything other than going for a piss up and a bit of a sing which can so often not occur at The Lane. I have been a regular for 20 + years, not a season ticket holder, and the atmosphere fluctuates, it always has.

I always considered this to be a gathering of people who wanted to enjoy their football as much as possible, more so given how much the sport takes itself so fucking seriously now.

If other people find it offensive, annoying or whatever other curious accusation that has been thrown our way, that is their problem, and as ever, best ignored.

As I have mentioned before, what separates 1882 from the other clubs view on life is that this is a fan led group of people who want to enjoy themselves and doesn't expect or require inclusion from everyone.

For me it is not about reclaiming the club due to some hypothetical notion of abolishing the commercialism (which will never happen), it's quite simply, we will turn up and sing, support those wearing the shirt and have fun.

I don't see a problem with it personally, no-one is saying they are a better fan for it, just that they want to do it and this is an opportunity to do it with other like minded people without pissing off too many of those who want to express themselves in a different way. win-win. :avblol:

Only criticism is I'm still pissed off I never got given a song sheet at the Next Gen game.

Also got collared by some bloke asking me if I had bought the boys along knowing people were going to be standing up and had I complained about it?

It's all basically just getting pissed and watching Spurs, isn't it. Too much debate on it seems counter-productive.

What I will say, is if people aren't entirely supportive, just try explaining the reasoning behind it as opposed to name calling and insults. 1882 or any equivalent was never going to please everyone, if people want to be negative, let them.
