Yawn!!! Is he still here?
Maybe the poor love can't afford the fare to Madrid, shall we set up a crowd funding page for him?
Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored, bored, bored, bored, bored beyond words with this. Can't wait until January when hopefully we can get rid.

What Levy (and maybe Poch too, if he convinced Levy he could persuade Eriksen to sign a new deal a year ago) got wrong was either letting this go past 2 years out (to the end of contract) before actively trying to sell him or at that point offering him a deal he couldn’t refuse. One or the other.

Summer 2018 Eriksen’s stock was high enough that (with 2 years left in his contract) we could have got a very good fee from a decent club - but that still comes with the caveat that he would accept that club.

There is no point bitching about the way Eriksen has gone about (not that you were but some have) this, at 12m fee and 75k a week for the last 3/4 years and about 35k pw before that he’s been an absolute fucking bargain, it’s how we (Levy/Poch etc) have gone about it that’s poor or “unprofessional” (as I’ve seen someonecall Eriksen’s stance).
I know where you’re coming from but are you saying sell every player when their contract gets to two years?

They won the league in 2015-16 which obviously is a huge accomplishment. Since then they've finished...

Go back to the start of 2015-16 and tally all the points from then to now...

TOT: 324 points
LC: 256 points

The difference is they did a better job capitalizing in 2015-16 and are off to a hot start this year. We've consistently been a far superior team to them.
What he says. It is very very premature to be getting over excited about the "achievements" of Lecister city.

In an ideal world, purely financially speaking, we should never allow a "valuable*" player to get his contract below the 2 year threshold, it's a very quick downward spiral in terms of our control over the situation and value of the player.

Two years ago Eriksen was 25yo, and one of the most productive AM/CM's in European football. Potentially worth 100m+ (based on the likes of Coutinho etc) - we could have taken that money and bought two or three really good players. Now we will get nothing.

* valuable is a wide criteria but any player who retains reasonable inherent value. There will be players of a certain age or viability who's contracts we are content to let run down.

What happens if they decide to stay put and hold out for a deal/offer that never arises.... (Naming no names. : P )

No chance of getting 40 m in January. Think he will go for nothing at end of season but if leaving in January will get considerably less than 40m. After all any club interested will have seen his performances this season and keep well away at that price for someone free in a few months.

Talkshite says he’s off to Juve in January

If true good fucking riddance

How anyone can be wishing him “good riddance” is beyond me.

He’s been an unbelievable footballer player for us. He’s statistically been the most creative premier league player over the last 5/6 years and has scored some of our most important goals.

Sure ( like much of our team ) he’s underperformed this season. But he’s never forced a move and has always turned down the chance to join another premier league club.

He’s completely entitled to not sign a new contract and experience a new way of life abroad.

Grow up.

Yep.
And Campbell was entitled to go to title challenging team.

It borders insanity on either side if we offered him 200k a week and he refused it.

Not really, that’s what an elite player would expect to earn at a consistent CL club. He can earn a similar salary at a mega club which is the next step in his career plan.

I hope we can shift him in January even if it’s for £10m, he’s taking up a place on the bench that should be given to someone else.
