The balls are different.

Make no mistake, I love the guy. Just wish he'd 'rediscover' that part of his game.
I might be ignorant on this - but since Willian's run last season it doesn't seem any PL player is scoring freekicks regularly?
You may be right. Mata seems like quite a threat from direct free kicks. Payet had a run, but obviously isn't in the equation anymore. De Bruyne is good.

But I appreciate that none of them are banging them in all the time.

Eriksen had a poor first half with his dead ball pieces and that lovely chance he should've absolutely buried. But six minutes into the half, put a ball on a platter for Kane and essentially finished off the game. What a ball. What a player really.

for me it's not the fact he isn't scoring with freekicks but the they're not even put into danger areas. That cross to Kane was decent for the goal but the vision came from Trippier, I also felt Trippier's crossing was better than Eriksen's for the most part. I get when trying to set people free things are on a knife edge and they don't always come off. I think that's why we give Lamella praise as he tries to open things up and if just one pass pays off we could be through. Eriksen isn't on the same level for me...

He was key to two of Kane's goals yesterday... that in itself would suggest he's coming bac to his best.
Yes, the free kicks haven't been great... but I don't think Eric Dier has hit one as sweetly for us yet as he did for England in the Summer!
Sometimes they come off, and look like worldies... sometimes, they just don't!

I'd rather Eriksen is contributing to the build-up play and assists, than worry about his free-kick techniques...
After all, some people are willing to write off all Kane's goals that were scored from penalties... so where's the real difference?

Was a time when an Eriksen free kick was almost as good as a penalty - I miss those days.
Remember when he scored two of them in one game against Swansea? Fucking brilliant, not sure what's going on. It's a bit like how Ronaldo used to be famous for his free kicks then went a whole year without scoring even one.

It's all in the noggin. Sometimes players get good at something, which leads to expectation, then they think about it too much, rather than using the Force.

Scapegoat alle the F.....g time ..he is no hero , killing all the opponents by Him self..but a damn good baller..Hes short passing and Ball intelligent, suites a Club Who appriciates his skills ...ex one in spain. Support Him and he Will even score on freekick again.
Amen.

When he did score for fun he kept being asked what he did in training to produce such quality, and answered rathered arrogantly that he didn't practice free kicks. Pisses me off quite a bit that professional footballers aren't aware enough about how to build and maintain a skill such as that. As a free kick specialist he should practice constantly on that part of the game. The number of goals and points better set pieces could amount to could see us actually challenge for a title.

Anyone remember how Eriksen and Kane would score for fun by placing shots from outside the box into the bottom corners? It seemed they had practiced it, and it was elegant and efficient. Anyone seen our long shots recently? Seems everyone has practiced aiming five meters above the bar.

Please do some shooting practice!
