One thing I will say is I absolutely wish him the best when he leaves. Definitely got the right mentality, just not the toolkit to be a successful PL player.
Forgot all about Gil. Sad how it’s worked out but I think all parties - club, fans, him - have moved on. Best wishes to him in La Liga.

We can't just foist players we don't want onto clubs. The need/appeal needs to be there...... Afterall; they'd still have to attribute a cash value reduction against any incoming fee demanded.
(eg. Barca sure as hell aren't gonna take him should we opt to pull the trigger on Raphina.)
On the flip-side; it would also require a club that admires Gil to have a player that we have an existing interest in.

We are getting in the way of his career at this point, I should think he wants out.
Of course he wants out, we want rid too. But nobody has come in for him.
He could reach legend status at somewhere like Celtic - which is possibly his level.
He would get kicked to death there, the only league where he can have a good career is La Liga. It’s slower and less physical. I think he would struggle in all the other top leagues.
