The race to sign
Maximilian Beier is beginning to build a head of steam ahead of the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old striker has been heavily linked with an exit from TSG Hoffenheim recently as he continues to impress in the German top flight.
Beier, who sees his contract at the PreZero Arena expire in 2027, has featured 25 times Pellegrino Matarazzo's side in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. His impressive performances have helped Hoffenheim climb the table as they hope to secure European qualification.
With eight games left to play, Die Kraichgauer currently sit eighth – seven points adrift of Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently rank sixth. Nevertheless, Beier, who has just received his first senior international call-up to the Germany squad, has reportedly courted the interest of some top clubs across Europe.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist
Florian Plettenberg, all the 'top Bundesliga clubs' apart from Borussia Dortmund are interest in activating Beier's €30million (£25.6m) release clause. The report states that the 'top eight Premier League clubs' are also keeping tabs on his progress.
