Looks like our list of dead and dying is extending :-(
On top of Okore (knee), benteke (flexor thingy) Lowton (loss of form, confidence), Westwood (unknown from training) we can add Luna,Gabby & Delph carrying knocks into Spurs game.

I like the fact this is down as an injury.

I would like to see Fryers and Vlad getting a run out. The other two defenders I'm not too bothered about. Would say Kaboul and Naughton.

Midfield Holtby and any two others. Maybe not Sandro if he's carrying a knock. Would want him fully fit for the Chelsea match.

Upfront I'm not too bothered. We've got a good squad and whoever is picked can do a job.

I'm with @ truetomyself truetomyself on this, when did you snobs start sticking your nose up at the League Cup? I don't recall us winning trophy after trophy and getting into the Champions League year in year out to justify us dismissing silverware so easily.
So you want us to play full strength after 1 day rest? When we got chelsea on the weekend.

I still think we can name a pretty strong 2nd XI that have a good chance of winning this... (are there replays at this stage any more, or is it pens and out?)
------------------------------- FREIDEL -----------------------
NAUGHTON (RB) - CRICHES - KABOUL (if fit) FRYERS
---------------------- SANDRO -- PAULINHO(?) ------------
TOWNSEND/LAMELA -------------------------------- SIGGY ---
----------------------- HOLTBY --------------------------
------------------------- DEFOE --------------------------
should surely be enough, and still leave an entire XI ready for Saturday!

10 days. 4 games.

And people are seriously doubting we should rotate??:avbfacepalm:

When you look at the players who need games this is the perfect opportunity.

Look at the quality we can bring in to start.
Defoe, Lamela, Holtby, Kaboul, Sandro.

Against some Villa reserves. :smesh:

AVB will rotate the team but that doesn't make it a weaker second team. Who out of our squad is the b team?
Friedel, Naughton, Fryers, Kane, Ade. Anyone else? All the rest are first team regulars who rotate on a regular basis.

AVB has mentioned that the players who played against Cardiff won't be risked tomorrow, so should be an interesting watch. I assume that doesn't include the subs, so should get a nice viewing of Holtby, Lamela and others. Seeing Chiriches and Kaboul together should be a good indication of where they both are, and Holtby as a deeper playmaking role would be nice to see too.
