Have a feeling Johnson would be ahead of Veliz as a 9.

Deki Johnson Richie would still be the starting front 3, Gil as backup.

Club have to sign a forward in January. No question
What the fucking point in spending money on a forward that will get almost next to no service?

Especially as maddison is out.

The two main creaters in the team are Maddison and Porro.

I would rather sort out the service first, as no matter who you get, they are going to get scraps to feed off, especially from the right, with Kulu who has provided almost fuck all for anyone.

Unless they get a forward that can create a bit too. The elusive 1v1 specialist

You know some pretty bad youth coaches!
But it’s exactly what you see from fans too.
Drives me bananas. Kid scores goals in u18 games and people think thats a logical way to rate them compared to men.
And yet, if we signed a grown arse man from a weaker mens league, people would seriously question if he was good enough for the Premier League.
Are people suggesting the Portuguese or French mens top division is weaker than the english U18 set up? Ave a fucking word people.
Veliz has looked good in his few appearances. He needs more game time to know if he is or isn't ready, imo.
He's done nothing. Nothing at all.
That's not a criticism. He's been on the pitch for a few minutes when games are seemingly dead. Often had tripe like GLC on as well.
But there's no point fantasising that he did well based on what could have happened if someone had passed to him.
He could have been in on goal and scored. Or it could have hit him on the arse and made am arse of himself

We got Veliz, I would rather spend money where it is really needed.

Like a LB and one more CB.

Then why bother with a youth setup and invest in young talent if not going to be prepared to use?

The biggest dissappointments this year have been the older supposedly more mature players on our books.

There is always an excuse as to why we shouldn't give youngsters a chance, but everyone always expects us to go out spend £100's of millions on players that may or may not succeed in the PL either.

Everything is a risk in football, so why not risk those show a lot promise.

Brighton and others do it very well.

To Dare is to Do.

I’d prefer he is loaned out to a Championship club that will play him every game. Italy wouldn’t be bad, but it’s better he settles in England his first year. Next season if he still needs more development he can be loaned out to Italy.

I do hope we are adventurous to get him more minutes before this happens though- the few times we’ve seen him so far he’s looked alright, especially for a young player just getting their first few prem minutes.

I agree with the most part as you only know your good enough if you play and get a chance.

Trouble is we ain't Brighton and couldn't get away with doing what they do as we're Tottenham Hotspur and therefore is more pressure.

One thing I will say regarding youth football most of us who play at a young age believe we're better than we are. for me personally I've always been a decent player... (well I like to think so), but I do remember I stopped playing properly around late teens then started again around 25, I was so much better just because I matured. Not as fit but I was better.

As pros that coming of age thing must be huge.
