Sadly ArcspacE ArcspacE is right. All it takes is a slightly iffy start or a few dropped points before Christmas while he gets to grips with the squad and league and our ever so loyal fans will be on 'frank de-boring out' bandwagon.

Someone said on this weeks pod (can't remember who sorry chaps) that we need levy to stop coming out at the start of every new manager tenure and season saying that our ambition is to finish top 4. It is giving fans false expectations.
He should say that what is required is he starts to improve on performances and foster a strong club ethic amongst ALL players from academy upwards. If this leads to a CL finish then great. CL is our aim but not our expectation.

Or would this put players off joining us/staying?

But that would happen to any manager who got the job sadly. It shouldn't be a reason not to employ one of the best available candidates.

Has Bert van Marwijk been suggested? Experienced, likeable, attractive football but if needed tough (holland wc2010), good with youth, mentor of FdB..

(Ok,i'll say anything to make you leave FdB alone but stil...)

What if this current season ended up being the fdb's First disappointing season, where players have to gel.

What if TS has been trying to implement an fdb philosophy, but failing?

Whoever comes to THFC the right personnel, the players have to be there or be encouraged to sign otherwise it all means nothing. You can't polish 11 gems when one or two are shite?

I do try to see the best in all players but we need to move onto the next level. One or two players will need to be axed.

TS is destined to fail and we cannot afford more failures.

He played a part in Rafa being relegated to the second bundesliga (almost sture)... Eh, that means he could save him. But no, he isn't good enough imo.

As with Spurs there is no definite proof of anything but AVB said he left Tottenham due "contractual issues".
I'm afraid that's just bullshit PR, mate. Ultimately, at some point down the line our chairman has to back-up a manager through thick and thin and give him a 3-season (minimum) carte blanche to implement his project - be it FdB, van Gaal, Phil Brown, etc. - else we would end up in the exact same situation as before.

I had posted this on TS in error.
I think it's best, for the benifit of the club, they do their business in secret (behind closed doors). Allowing other clubs knowledge to whom we want to sign, as in FdB could go wrong. Another club may act fast. Utd were quick to sack Moyes (LVG) ? the scum could do the same for example and FdB could be tempted. there is a strong Scum connection with Ajax at the moment.??????

Indeed, be interesting to see how the "Timmehs a faaahkin gooner agent kaaaahnt" will cope if he rocks up with Dennis and Marc....

The Rogers' point a page or so back - it occurs to me that this whole season might be a bit paradigm shifty in how managers are viewed. If anyone has any sense. Rogers is a good manager, the Liverpool squad is a good squad, but it's not great, and the league is hardly uncompetitive this year... Liverpool is top-loaded with talent in Suarez - but we've had our own stand out, world class players as the nexus of our 'decent' squad over the last few years. Liverpool have sort of removed everyone's excuses. You can argue a few things, but you can't really say that their success this season is *not* the product of stability and a (mostly) single vision. Even our own best period in the last decade was when we had stability of a sort via Redknapp. Not fucking about and backing people has now been proved to work though inductive fucking reasoning. The next biggish club to get a hot young manager and give him 14 months and a massive pay off for no reason is going to look like a proper cunt.

As the law of spursy states, he will be within our grasp (completing the managers equivalent of a medical) only to take a slightly larger paycheck (actually much larger) and head off to monaco.

He's is a slightly above average manager, imv who happened to have the best strike-force in the PL this season and got massively lucky Real Madrid preferred to splash on Bale last summer - because if they were offered the same kind of pessos for Suarez, their owner would have probably sold quicker than you can say 'litre of cola and fries'.

He also received massive credit for his work at Swansea when in reality it was Martinez responsible for setting up their system - much like Barcelona today with Pep, etc. Do not want.

Looking at what he's done for the likes of Sturridge, Henderson and (above all) Sterling, I'd kill for a manager that average.
