Maybe if forest and Everton get points deducted over one incident it then sets a punishment precedent for them to follow for the city Chelsea charges

I think the government will quietly intervene in the background to influence the PL. Arabs will have leverage to force the gov to act (whichever party is in power).

The government want control over football to stop overspending, bankruptcy, loss of jobs, loss of taxes - that's completely at odds with the way City seek to act.....so something has to give

City are happy with the current way of things. Despite their thick fans' cries of "cartel", they are the current cartel. They have voted for every financial restriction in recent years and for good reason; they are terrified of the oblivion that is coming. I don't think people realise the extent they inflated their initial revenues. Like really, the number of companies they set up and the second rate asset management companies they hired to circulate funds. These are people who don't care about rules or ethics. In their lives they are above that.

Yes City are - but the government aren't, hence they are threatening a regulator.

If you have £80M in the bank, why on earth would you be recording £40M losses per year over the next 3 year period?
Because that's how accounting works.
Profits and losses are based off revenues v expenses for the current year.

Retained earnings in theory are the collective profits accumulated over all previous years.

Ok. I can understand that from an accounting point of view, but why would you actually do that and put yourself in the hole with PSR? Surely, instead of banking that money, you'd spend it so that you don't fall foul?

It's one thing to report losses for the tax breaks, but if you end up with fines and possible points deduction, you'd use your banked monies to offset losses surely?

Yes you would and the argument could be made that by limiting measurement to 3 years and not taking into account retained profits that PSR actually encourages reckless and unnecessary spending rather than strategic saving.

City need to be sent down to below the conference, stripped of their titles, and made to repay every penny of prize money.

Obviously they will just get a slap on the wrist. If the rest of the prem gave a shit they should just refuse to play against them.

Hmmm call me cynical but could this be anyway linked to the 115 charges? They're swinging their dicks around showing the PL that this is how they are going to behave going forward. The 19 other PL clubs need to be behind the PL on this 100%.
City basically lawyer up in response to any attempt to stop them cheating.

We should be handed the League Cup that occured just after Jose was sacked.

In English law, limitation periods for most types of civil claim are set out in the Limitation Act 1980 (Statute of Limitations is an Americanism).

Whether a claim is time barred depends on what the claim is. For example, a claim alleging breach of contract should ordinarily be commenced within six years of the breach alleged.

In some circumstances, a limitation period may be extended, for example when a claimant could not reasonably have known of the claim until after the ordinary limitation period had expired.
