Same people that screamed that buying a squad player, Trossard, for £27m was ‘backing the manager’ suggest that getting Werner, at least an equal player for less, isn’t backing the manager.
SMFH at some of the fans on here.
The narrative trumps all for some, like that tit someone posted in the Levy thread that refused to celebrate the Porro goal.

Hating ENIC/Levy is more important than supporting the club to these people. Let them be miserable, I say.

Maddison was filling a hole in the squad that existed since eriksen left.

Rice was a record signing from a position of strength when they already had partey but decided they wanted to win the league

Rice was an 8 that they thought would be their Rodri playing the 6. The longer the season goes on, the more mis-profiled he looks.

Maddison was exactly the profile that Ange wanted. We had tried to sign him under Conte but he wanted very different players for his wide 10's.

OK fair enough.

If our biggest rivals go ahead and strengthen in a big way and we haven't, I hope there will be some acknowledgement from fans that prefer to stick to the silver lining every window

Last example was declan rice.....

"He's not worth it".

It's like being gaslighted every season by a controlling partner that insists everything is fine

Who would you have preferred:

Sarr: Biss, Benta, Maddison: approx 94m
Rice: 105m

???????

....................Who's trying to gaslight who here?

Answer: West Ham.

Every single fan base and pundit likes to talk about the financials of deals.

Not every signing is a starting 11 star to get picked every week.

If people are seeing the sense in this specific signing, for a player to perform this specific role whilst Son is away, I don't really get why that would bother you.

If we were signing Werner as our first choice star forward in the summer and only getting a loan with option.... Then I could see where you are coming from.
It's not the signing, it's the opportunity to have a pop at the forum.

That's it.

Oh yes to fill a depleted squad.

But do we push the button on a rice when we are within touching distance of a title

If either group are gaslighting it's the ones supporting a regime that has led to 0 trophies since 2008, after cycling through many managers, insisting that "this cycle is different"

Right now we are just in a similar position to where we were on the upward curve with poch. There is no evidence to say we are taking a step beyond into being odds on to win a title

Wow - you're starting to find excuses like the rest of them. Did conte get what he wanted to make his system work then? We got the stone wall centre half he needed?
