I've not seen the lad play so I really don't know how good or bad he is but surely Ashley Phillips could be considered in the starting eleven tomorrow? He is a 'proper' centre back after all and is surely more mobile that Dier. He has the height and energy and he's trained in Ange's system. I get he's young, but in the circumstances does that matter? I suppose if Ange thinks he's up to it then he will start - otherwise I think he'll play Dier for his height and CB experience.

I feel sorry for him, social media wants him to come in and solve our injury crisis yet no-one knows if he's good enough or not.

I have to say that right now I am even more worried about #6 position than our CB.

Royal had excellent game when Skippy was... quite shit to be honest :D .

Or well.. its bit simplistic - better way to say it would be that - this CB duo could survive if they would get more support from DM position. If we'd press and take the room from building attacks. But I don't see that coming from Skippy or PEH.

We are truly fooked over the next few weeks, such saddening news.

Re-uniting the Double D's aka Dumb and Dumber at CB is like suicide. Was no co-incidence Davies started making errors as soon as dire was out for the second half, Romero helped keep Davies deficiencies at bay but Dire brings them all back including his own.
Fuckin nonsense, Davies has been arguably our best defender since the Chelsea shambles.

Is Tanguy available to play CB?

We're not "cursed", he's just a burgeoning sicknote. How many times has he been injured or missed time due to injury? Add that up with the potential red every other game in which he participates and you have to wonder how earnestly we are looking for CB additions/competition.

Since Aug 2021 he has missed 144 days and 34 games (with a few being Argie games)...that's effectively half a year and a full season of football (Source: TM)...in what is just over 2 calendar years. And now he's set for another 4+ games and 30+ days! And that's disregarding recent obvious reds that he should have received

You and others on here may disagree but I still don't believe the juice is worth the squeeze on this player...but we venerate and spew hagiographies about players like this. He can't stay healthy and during his short bursts of fitness he's always at risk of being sent off. And in the moments when positivity shines from these two fronts, his actual defensive ability (beyond Dawson-like tackles) is questionable. I know, I know, he can kick a ball accurately...

If he does start I hope people realise he’s going to make mistakes and cut him some slack.

Young CBs against experienced forwards is a recipe for disaster. Premier league strikers are a step up from anything he would have faced before.

Was out all day. Mate texted me to say Romero was out for the whole January.

Not sure if it was a dream or psychic abilities but I thought it had already been confirmed this was the case.

Was thinking I was turning into Nostradamus then realised it might just be the effects of too much Christmas “cheer”.

What day is it???
