QPR away was class. Remember gazza in the warm up looking at the linesman as he did his sprints. Gazza kicked the ball as hard as he could straight into the linesman back then looked away and jogged on. You'd of thought he was choir boy whislt the linesman turned round face of thunder. Trying to work out who did it. Spurs fans pissing themselves.
Yeah, loved it.Loved the pubs round there ,and the compact little stadium was great, always a good atmosphere. The pasties were nice as well

Brillant ground and we'd always bring loads. I remember the police escorting a crowd of spurs fans across the pitch to the away enclosure. À ball rolled into the path of one of our supporters and he fired it into the top corner. Brilliant shot and wildly cheered. I was well jealous of that cunt. It wasn't you Tottenham Sean Tottenham Sean was it?

I'm happy not to be in EC, those Thursday nights kill a top4/Title chance. We've got a paper thin squad. Outside the top XI we are really exposed.

League Cup very different - no overseas travel, 50% chance home tie, 3 matches in (?) and you're in 2 leg semi and that's not till January.

AVB blew top 4 over Europe

Poch blew a LC final v Chavs

and the 2016 title chance

ditto.

You can just play the second string as we have done before. It’s just guaranteed games and therefore guaranteed tickets for kids.
Not playing those games has massively increased demand for league games.

Be interesting to see if they offer £40 family of 4 tickets if we have a 3rd round FA cup tie at home.
Hope they do. But I think a lot of season ticket holders will still buy their normal seats so makes it difficult.

Absolutely, and I always like to go to WHL for a Thurs night partly for that reason. I remember Kane missing his pen v Hearts at 0-0, 5-0 up from the 1st leg. Turned to my son "There's no knowing how far that one will go".

But it just never seems to happen! Maybe Ange would be different, maybe Levi would give an instruction, I dunno.

I also think that it takes away Ange preparing the first team for the full week.

Tottenham Sean Tottenham Sean QPR away was my first away day as a kid. God knows how many of us were crammed in to that tiny terrace under the seats but it was always very noisy and fun for a youngster! Great area for food and drink too. Most London teams are. Apart from Spam.

100% we can just concentrate on the league this way.

My original point was an observation in regards to kids tickets being harder to get this season.

Now with us being high up in the league every body wants to be there. Double whammy.

There's just something so wonderfully traditional about that phrase!!!
It's like how PROPER football fans used to speak!

He can take it out of the money I pay for a full priced season ticket, when I
qualified for the OAP rate 2 seasons ago!

Just found a little fixture / ticket booklet for the 04/05 season. Old crest still pride of centre on it!!

Junior pricing was only available in the old Paxton road stand at the old ground.
Lower tier £18 cat a. £13 cat c.
Only 5 CAT A games back then.

Standard pricing £55 was the highest priced ticket for cat A. South lower was £35.

Wonder what the prices were as a comparison in 1984/1985?

Remember being in the away end early 90,s, quite possibly the most packed in I have ever been on a terrace, we all moved as one lol
The Woolwich match in 1971 was mad, with (I think) 56,000 in the ground. Many were stuck in the walkway at the back of the shelf unable to see anything . I was perched on the narrow ledge behind the walkway for the whole match, unable to move or I'd have lost my place.

FA Cup Semi final was £4 in 1984

Probably standard ticket £50- £60 in 2004??

Same multiplier should be about £800 in 2024!!
Tickets are quite cheap nowadays aren’t they!

In a similar vein, the club should open up the away tickets to other season ticket holders and members. Give half the allocation to the loyalty point set but do the rest as a lottery, getting to see Spurs in the away end is a pretty tough endeavour.

Last point is key and always overlooked. It’s not just managers tactical prep, it’s the players physical and mental prep too. Majority of them will have knocks, bruises etc that clear up with a weeks rest, and after a weeks recovery will be looking forward to playing as opposed to it being a functional requirement
