Quick little shout out to 96th minute when Lamela gets the ball on the edge of our area and decides no I won't pass it or just punt it down field, no I'll go for a dribble and then lose it...

Think my heart stopped beating for that 5 second episode.
I was thinking don't do a fucking Eriksen.

I'm sure many fans thought the same.

I think I screamed something like 'have you learnt nothing you prick, kick it down the line'

I sorta didn't want to post this, but fuck it, I'm going to anyway. 3 days before the City away match, my Dad got diagnosed with inoperable cancer. Understandably, I was distraught. I was in a very bad place. I was having some dark thoughts. Seeing as we've always bonded over football, we got together to watch it. I was thinking how awesome it would be if we went on to win this motherfucker. That night I realized that I don't have a Dad that's dying, I have a Dad who is very much alive. We bounced around the living room and we won in the last few minutes of a classic. One of my fondest memories, even though it was only a month ago. I decided I was gonna get to him for every big match so we could watch it and enjoy it together. At this point, he decided he was gonna postpone his chemotherapy until after a family trip to Menorca was over at the end of May. Obviously the home leg against Ajax didn't go as planned, which was a bit of a downer, but it wasn't the worst case scenario. Our get together today was still on. And holy shit, what a day it was. At half time, I was your typical melt, as you'd understand. My missus had the text messages to prove it. I was so depressed it was unbelievable. I'd hoped to have this glorious last football run with my Dad, and we'd fucked it. I decided to roll some spliffs. I'd given up and was watching the beginning of the second half on a stream on my phone in the garden, which wasn't the best and I was 2 minutes behind. Then I saw him run up to the window holdings up a single finger. Fuck yeah! Then he ran up holding up 2 fingers. What the fuck? I abandoned my smokes and ran inside. For the rest of the game, we were on the edge of our seats. We had all but given up and then.... A FUCKING LAST MINUTE WINNER! We both jumped up and sprinted around the entire downstairs area while Mum frantically tried to keep control. She failed miserably. Spurs gave me such a moment tonight and the date Dad put his chemotherapy off until? The day after we get home from holiday, which is the day of the Champions League Final. Come on Spurs, do it for me and the old man! I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get tickets to that motherfucker so we can stay in the Spanish region and witness it for ourselves in person. As unlikely as it may be, wish me luck people. It'd be priceless. :)

Respect mate

Was thinking the same thing... I know watching it on big screens overlooking an empty pitch would be weird, but it really IS a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I'm SURE they'd pack the South Stand at the VERY least!!
I remember quite a few years ago they tried it for an away game vs. Middlesbrough... they opened up the Paxton/East lower I think...
It WAS strange to 'watch a game' with no one actually ON the pitch, but as an experiment, it certainly worked!

...and THINK OF THE EXTRA REVENUE DANIEL!!! :levylol:

Oh, get us and our First World problems now?!
Mind you, IT'S A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE.... Whether or not to go to a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!!
We're the envy of the nation right now!

Yes they used to put games on the jumbotron.

I remember watching us beat charlton 3-2 after begin 2 down. I think mido and Keane scored during the Jol era. Absolute scenes and that was just a London Derby in the league.

Imagine the CL final scenes.

They can put a pop up screen on the field too. Real Madrid did it a couple years ago at the bernabeu when they were in the CL final.

I like this one a lot:

"Ajax turned into Woolwich the moment Woolwich fans started supporting them."

Most of the North I would imagine. City, Newcastle. In fact, everyone apart from London and Liverpool.
Went into work early this morning, there's a real mix of fans from all over the country. Was chatting to my mate who supports Liverpool and a Chelsea season ticket holder comes over and starts taunting him about how their big comeback achievement only lasted 24hrs and how they would lose in the final to us!!
Weird what football does to you.

I know we are the designated home team, but fuck me I want to see this team in that wonderful third kit in the Final.

Only exception is if we can wear next season's home kit, which I assume is better than this year's monstrosity.

You know when you are at work and there's this one real annoying Twat who won't shut up and just keeps going on and on and on about their club? it's usually Woolwich or the rare occassion when West Ham win// well today I have been that annoying Twat. I've not shut up talking about last night and relived every minute over and over again. People looking at me wishing i'd just shut the fuck up... Well unlucky, there is going to be plenty more of days like these..

I've been singing "oh what a night" over and over.. I even heard women who know nothing about football singing it as I got into everyones head..

Hahaha what a day..

I watched it on a US stream, I? know we have foreign celeb fans but Steve Nash comes across as a proper Spurs fan, not one of those bandwagon jumpers.

Just found this

Yep, his family is from Tottenham. He talked on the pregame before the first leg about speaking with his Dad that day and what it would mean to him. He’s Spurs.

Flight to London and watching it in a Spurs pub?
Its being considered mate-I ran Maddens in East Finchley for five years and would be amazing to go back and watch it there with my old muckers but I have pressure on from the wife and mates at home in Belfast too.

Just spied Belfast to Malaga-40 quid taxi to train station, 3 hr 15m train to Madrid sat afternoon arriving 6pmish and same back on sunday morning for around 650£ all in without hotel and ticket.
Don't think I can do it, 9 hours each way minimum and not guaranteed to make the right train on time-so fucking tempted though.
