Tottenham have been handed a major injury boost with news that midfielder Victor Wanyama has returned to training.

The Kenyan captain suffered a recurrence of a knee injury which he picked up last summer during Spurs’ US pre-season tour.

That injury kept the midfielder out of Spurs’ first two games of the season, but the club confirmed that Wanyama has returned to training ahead of their trip to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

However, the clash against Man United will come too soon for Wanyama, whose return is a huge boost to the Mauricio Pochettino led side.

Fuck me, that is great news.

Hopefully he can start getting some minutes. We have been missing his strength and authority in the centre of the park. He sets the tempo a lot of the time with his aggressive pressing.

We need this guy back fit and firing. He transforms the team by being a defensive beast and authoritative with the ball. He got our team on the front-foot so often in 2016/17.

I fear he will be another Sandro. We have never been given any real detail on what actually happened to his knee and over a year after the injury he is still struggling and has missed preseason 2 summers in a row. Physically he looked a million miles away from his normal level in all his appearances last season and it will take at least a couple of months for him to get there if he stays injury free.

The best football we have played under Poch was with Wanyama and Dembele together in midfield, we really need him to recover well.

Making it look like a dad out there playing with his toddlers in the back garden. :wanyama:

So he trains with us but plays for Wednesday? How does this relationship work?

Dele done the same when at MK Dons.

What's surprising is KWP and him are both there and they were with England just yesterday. Unless of course the pirure is just old..
