If Alderweireld is off, so be it. Writing has been on the wall for a year, hence him hardly playing since he came back from injury - think he only made 4 appearances as Poch made it clear to him that if he wasn't committed, poch wouldn't either.
Good news is that we replaced him a year ago with Davidson Sanchez (we certainly didn't pay £45m to leave him on the bench) and brought in Juan Foyth to develop. We also have Cameron Carter-Vickers who has had a season of Championship football plus Eric Dier (provided Wanyama is fit - otherwise Eric is essential as DM). How often did we rotate CB's in 2017/18 or even 2016/17 - answer is other than for injuries, hardly at all ?
So whilst I'd love a De Ligt coming in for instant gratification, we have back up already provided our main 2 CB's.....and a few more very good Academy CB's coming through in a year or two,
Lets see who does come in after the TW is closed before making judgements.
A couple of players to refresh the squad is always good, but actually the squad is relatively complete numbers wise, and no point in bringing in players who don't upgrade the squad quality as we have enough of them already - players such as N'Koudou, Sissoko and even players like Aurier (throw ins a speciality) and a 3rd overseas trained goalkeeper taking up a valuable squad place unnecessarily.

Martial probably won’t happen, can’t see United let a player like him go to us, they will try and off load him abroad.
