A keeper, an attacking right back, and a defensive midfielder are all essential. Aside from that we are okay. Get it done Levy

a Defensive Midfielder?

For playing in front of the back four, we already have Dier, Wanyama, Dembele and Winks. Dier can't get a look in at that rate, either.

Are you from a parallel universe? I'd say they're the three positions we don't really need to buy
Oh thank god, I thought I'd just woken up from a coma circa 2011.

Attacking left back (Replace Davies)
Attacking midfielder (Needs to be competition for Eriksen and very technical/creative. This is the biggy)
Young striker (Kane needs help, doesn't look like Janssen will be that guy. Keep Janssen anyway).

Possibly need a new LCB, as I think Wimmer will leave due to lack of playing time. Other than that, the squad if strong.
Tierney of Celtic should be our left back target.
If we buy him then I see no issue in Davies replacing Wimmer in a more central role.
Sell Wimmer.

That's why I felt Zlatan would have been perfect for this team last year; the group needs that Cantona-esque catalyst who knows how to win and can become a protagonist of the crucial initial few victories. Tevez would have been ideal had the Chinese not seduced him with that mega salary; beyond him there aren't that many who fit the criteria. Rooney on a 12 month loan? He won't go to China yet because of the prospect of participating in the WC 2018 still appeals to him, and despite his terrible form at United for the past 3 years a (premature) Indian Summer in his career in a new environment surrounded by exuberant young talent isn't beyond comprehension.

I'm not sure Isco is the answer; James Rodriguez is more productive, direct and probably wouldn't cost much more.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of funds Pocchettino has available to him this summer; one of Martial or Dybala would be the ideal signing, and even worth sacrificing Alli for. Both could play as the focal point allowing Kane to rest, as well as in support of him from a deeper/wider position.
Is this someone trolling?

That was in the early 90s, though. Maradona was a shell of his old self by then. It would be like signing Kaka right now, if Kaka had serious problems with cocaine.

Yep, I think Jurgen was the better signing on balance! I doubt he's ever done a can of coke, let alone a line!

Crazy story. Had we got Maradonna we would have had the greatest ever footballer to play for any British club ever.

But I understand why at that time period he opted for Klinnsman. Still if Maradonna had come and had been in the right frame of mind it would have been insane.

Did the rest of that go....

"And then Ossie got Diego down to watch a match"

"He saw us play and said fuck that shit, and the rest is history"

I think we'll be selling Lamela, Janssen, Davies and Wimmer this summer. To be perfectly honest with you I'm not against Dembele leaving either
Don't agree about Davies, but I'm with you on Lamela (he's too good to be a backup, not good enough to be a started) as well as Dembele.. Can't help but feel that as terrific as Dembele is, he's about to fall off the metaphorical cliff that so many players who rely on speed/strength do past the age of 30. If LA, NYC, or Chongding offered 30 mil, I wouldn't think twice if I were Levy. Take that money, go get Nainggolan.

Lots of very capable pl players that can fill back-up positions. Maguire and Robertson from Hull being two of them, if Hull go down we should definitely go after them

How are these two going to take us to the next level?

We need players who are going to come in and overtake what we HAVE. We need to stop buying players who will just come to sit on the bench and have no hope of overtaking those in front of them.

it might be an unpopular opinion, but I think we've been waiting years now for Moose to just 'click' and turn into a match winning player.

He's one of those players that flirts with the cusp of being a brilliant player. I can't quite place it, but he just doesn't quite have that thing that makes him undroppable - like the ability to score a goal, or to start a break. He can dribble and pass, but spends a lot of matches acting like a dad playing a match against 10 year olds (like he's holding back). Can't quite put my finger on it.

You're spot on and there has been numerous times this season where we've started with Dembele and only looked threatening and likely to score when he's been subbed off. West Ham at home for example.
