Spurs beat Heerenveen 1-0 in their second game thanks to Troy Parrott. Griffiths had a penalty saved minutes before. Spurs last group game against Athletics Paranaese will decide who finishes second.

Spurs lost the first game 1-0 against what looked to be one of the weakest sides in the group, so need to get a result against Athletics Paranaese, perhaps the strongest side in the group @ 5 pm today (local time)

Excellent review of a lot of young players. We certainly seem to have a very decent u18 squad atm

If you were to pick your top 10 players from the u18's who would you include - based upon a blend of performance this season and potential to be a top player - and who would you put as the next few best ? :

1 Jon de Bie
2 Brooklyn Lyons-Foster
3 Jamie Reynolds
4 Jamie Bowden
5 Armando Shashoua
6 Dilan Markanday
7 J'Neil Bennett
8 Reo Griffiths
9. Troy Parrott
10 Rodel Richards

The next best - Elliott Thorpe (didn't play too many games, but on reputation ?), Paris Maghoma (seemed to start the season excellently but seemed to fall away ?), Rayan Clark, Phoenix Patterson.......
No Dennis Cirkin? Anyway, I look forward to watching these guys next season.

Dennis Cirkin is a Spurs u16 but played for Spurs u17 in ALKASS International Cup in Jan 2018 - we expect to see him next season playing for Spurs u18's when he'll be a full time member of Spurs Academy.

A few of these lads are still with us now!

Connor Ogilvie's ginger hair caught my attention immediately followed by Harry Winks beside him - both seem to me to look similar to their 16 year old selves although not sure they would appreciate the comment ! Think Shayon Harrison is there too but slightly different hairstyles to now and I am unsure if I recognise Luke Amos and Anthony Georgiou or not !

#thfc Schoolboy England youth international, Noni Madueke has turned down our offer of a two year scholarship at Hotspur Way and is set to join PSV Eindhoven on a three year deal. Noni had been expected to sign for Manchester United.

All spot on!

He signed a one year extension last summer but was released by the club (mutual consent) only a month later. He subsequently went on trial with Japanese J league side Yokohama F Marinos but never went on to sign for them. It would appear that he is no longer involved in the game.
Shame, talented lad but very hard to see how he could progress given his size.

I'm never one to usually take that into account, small players with their low centre of gravity can be unbelievable players (Messi, Augero, Barros, Joe Allen, Sanchez, Lennon, Cazorla (before he got injured and fat), Dyer to name but a few. But Goddard was tiny and you couldn't see him getting the required muscle strength of those mentioned above.

Wow

bit of a turnaround if he does sign with us

Mind you, from his tweeting etc he sounds like a bit of a plonker

Some challenge at Spurs for him - Kane ahead of him, Parrott a year below
Maybe Poch asked Dembélé and a few of our other big lads (Jan, Sissoko, Hugo, Coco) to take him out behind the barn and explain how one behaves at Tottenham

If Edwards does leave, I've never been more confident that he will fail.

He may go down as one of those big 'what ifs' at Spurs.

A shame. But if you're hoping to get by on natural ability alone, you're not going to make it to the very top. You ultimately have to work hard and respect those around you. Something on both accounts that Edwards doesn't seem to want to do.

William Troost-Ekong played 90 minutes for Nigeria, not a good Nigerian side. Hem made a fair few appearances for Dutch youth sides, surprised he changed nations - but of course he wouldn't be at this WC with Netherlands !

Milos Veljkovic on the bench for Serbia today - think he was a bigger loss to Spurs

Ekong conceded the Nigerian penalty too.
