You'd have thought that those who marked this window at less than say 5/10 would have the grace to go back to adjust their vote (as the thread allows) after seeing Vicario, Van de Ven and Maddison have top class games for us yesterday - and see Johnson was selected to start one of the most difficult games he's likely to get in PL anywhere whilst Solomon is a very credible squad player (and I suspect we will find better than Moura ?). Plus see we have brought in highly rated youngsters Phillips and Veliz who's effects we will only see in a year or two.

I voted 7/10 as the window closed and think I got things about right. But could mark higher after yesterday's performances

And very happy to see the performances in the 6 PL games so far, and seeing the team gradually gell.
If we include Udogie (I do) vdv, Maddison and Vicario makes it a 9 or 10. 4 absolute ballers, can't think of a better transfer window.

I thought I would include transfers for 2022 and 2023.
We have bought an amazing ten starters, 3 fantastic squad players in Perisic, Solomon and Forster and some exciting youth players.
I mean, what more do people want? Some err..what shall we call them.."challenged" fans gave this window 1 or 2.
Even the players that left weren't awful.

Is he joining in Jan 2025, or in the summer? Weird that they've left it vague. Born in Feb so we'll need him in the door in Jan 2025 if he's going to eventually qualify as homegrown, which I assume is our goal. But leaving him at Split to start the 2024-2025 season would be a little bizarre.
He can still be homegrown if he comes in the summer 2025. The rules are 3 years before 21st birthday or the end of the season which he turns 21.

I'm still trying to remember how often we have summer recruits who become key members of the first team pretty much from their spurs debuts at the start of the season like Vicario, Van de Ven, Udogie, Maddison.

And I'm really struggling.

And to name 4 players ..... is this a first time EVER, 4 players have had such an immediate impact on first team ?

13/14
Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho, Eriksen, Capoue, Chiriches, Chadli?

Pretty sure at least four of them were immediate first team starters weren’t they?

But not the same effect, and don't think they all ever lived up to their pre-signing hype (magnificent 7) even in the first matches they played.

Lamela and Eriksen possibly did, Soldado left his scoring boots in Spain, Chiriches almost a cartoon defender at times, Chadli hardworking and we needed him, but less effective than we'd like which is why I think he moved onto WBA whilst Capoue seemed to join the infamous Adebayor and Kaboul gang who were moved on.

But the fact you had to go back a decade to find this group indicates how big a jackpot we seem to have hit after being tested in NLD away ..... and coming up looking like veterans

"Immediate impact"?

"Key members"?

The only one you could argue had "impact" and became a "key member" was Eriksen.

Lamlea, Chadli... Fan of both, but neither tick those boxes...... Esp. Erik who was injured for much of his first year. Capoue was the epitome of ok.

The other 3... You must be kidding

Just changed mine from a 6 to a 7.
The impact of Vicario ,Maddison and VdV has been immense.
Certainly much more than I thought it would be.
Still worried about depth at CB though.

Anyone who voted 5 or less are either trolling, joking, on drugs, or underestimated how good some of the signings are.

Just voted 10.

Reserve the right to downgrade, should things fall away, but WOW we hit a batch of seeming home runs.

Still think the board sold Ange short, especially at CB with the Sanchez lateness whilst Ange said he expected another signing. Plus we didn’t invest enough given 8th, Kane and new manager.

However, we should expect about £50m was set aside for January.

Paratici and Ange, please carry this on!
