Just shows how important Luka is to the team, fucking asshole why did you have to be an ungrateful piece of shit

Not really. If I could only choose one of two options between getting a proper Modric replacement and a competent striker (or two) I'd easily go with the later. We have talent in the midfield but it's all for naught if no one can plunk it in up front.

PSG have the money for Luka though. Worser league but money talks.

Just spunked £100m on Thiago Silva, Moura and Ibrahimovic. Have already signed Lavezzi as well to add to those.

Not sure he would want to go there either tbh. It's Real or nowhere in my eyes and I really don't think they will cough up the cash. Would any of us be that gutted to see him stay really?

I don't reckon PSG have budgeted to sign Modric as well as all the other players they have.

I see Modric getting sold on deadline day for £38m to Real #ITK

Sigurdsson was ineffectual, in fact he's been anonymous in the friendlies apart from popping up by surprise with a couple of goals. His touch has been awful. Completely unimpressed so far. The goal against New York was nice though.

If we are going to play a front three we need technically gifted players that are supremely comfortable with the ball, that is not Jenas, Livermore or even Sandro, it's Modric/Moutinho, Parker and Van Der Varrt (Sigurdsson as alternative).

Vertonghen has given away two cheap goals and has looked out of sorts so far, some nice runs this time.

We need Ade too.

Any AVB comments or post match interviews?

"Like I say, Valencia are a top, top team...I told the lads to run about a bit in the second half, but that lad that scored is a top, top player and any defence would have a problem with him..."

Re: Steveomgage & other pre-season friendlies

I don't think we looked shit. A little inert, but you have to expect that with no target striker.

Was anyone really expecting us to beat Valencia away?

A narrow defeat (even with Modric, Adebayor, etc) would be what we'd expect if we were playing them in Europe - that's why all European games are over two legs........home advantage counts a lot

Kick Off: 19:45 BST

I read a lot of comments saying : Vertonghen isnt as good as Ledley ...

What is that supposed to mean , do we really think that someone that has arrived in a club a mere month (give or take) ago coming from the dutch league is going to be as good as the man we all see as one of the best defenders to have ever donned that llilywhite shirt ?

Give him time , if he fails so be it but compare him with the current defensive partners not with the man we'd all give our backside virginity to.

People actually said this? :walker:

Yup , i read it on here already but on twitter and fb i have seen that comment made. Spurs is often seen as a stepping stone club without the pressure of the real big clubs but thats BS , we are amongst the most critical kneejerking fickle fans around. Coming to spurs and carying a pricetag is not coming to the relaxing club where you can evolve to the next level , that would be Fulham.

we weren't great by any stretch of the imagination. We weren't awful either, however I seem to remember a few years back when we beat Roma 5-0 in a friendly match to then follow that up with our worst ever start in the Premier League. Last night was an opportunity for everyone to make mistakes and to learn from them. We do need an adebayor/adebayor like striker though
