Should we move for Ashley Cole?

Devil's advocate here, if signing Ashley Cole increased our chances of success why wouldn't you want him? After all we all want to win things right?

Do we really need yet another thing to divide the fans?

I love us winning but that's at too much of a cost and besides, he's 33. With a new manager coming in we are unlikely to get an instant impact so by the time we look like we might contend he'll be 34 or, most likely, older. We need to build for the future not just stick a bandage of a compound fracture and hope for the best.

Anyone read the interview in the the sun today? Talking about the stuff he's won and one thing he's proud about that he mentions that " as a young kid I watched the fa cup final and now I'm a record holder. I watched Paul Gascoigne scoring his free kick against Woolwich, I watched all those finals on TV.

For me its not about them being gooners in the past...Ade and Gallas never epitomised them to me, and ended up falling out.

I know Cole gets slated by the scum fans now, but he really did embody them, as he does Chelsea....its just a big fat NO as far as he's concerned.

It would be like signing Wilshere. Wrong.
