So generally, it was 'restricted' because the supports were in the way of the pitch, but to be honest it was a perfect view otherwise.

Shame it was full of "geezers" who only made a sound to say "who is that seb-a-loss?" or kids asking "whos that" every time a player touched the ball...
:pochserious:

Yeah those cunts piss me off....but not as much as those cunts sitting there taking pictures.

I reckon I was half a block away on the other side of the halfway line. No longer a regular at the lane as I live in the midlands but was a bit surprised by the clientele until my lad told me it was a family fixture. Not ideal for me personally but we have to keep the youngsters from the clutches of citeh, Chelski et al I guess.

Yeah, I seem to recall there being a 'family' offer or something.

Not really an excuse for the droves of "geezers" who did nothing but sit down and guess players whilst complaining about tactics*.

*not that its so different to here at times!

Caught it on ITV4, thought it was good to okay. You can't read too much into it, after all, just a friendly and a lot of key players were missing. Having said that I thought Holtby, Naughton and Dier had good games. My concern is that we won't have the energy reserves to finish games strongly. Therefore we need to be at least three goals up if we are to win games :adesalute:

Don't know how it came across on TV, but Holtby was also a bit over-keen at times.

It's not improbable that he would had been sent off, had it have been a PL match.

Agree, there was one truly horrific tackle, went in with both feet, and would have deserved a straight red.

This is the first friendly I have managed to see this pre-season. Couple of things stood out for me. The first, Soldado. I was always for given him the benefit of the doubt. His record in Spain allows that. But he looked the same old, same old Soldado I only know I,m afraid. Secondly, Lennon. I,d av got rid long ago. However! I was really impressed with his appetite and more so his movement off the ball, and this narrower role he takes up. He has been Poched I think! Good to see and I hope he proves me wrong, and shows there is a top player inside
that diminutive frame.

On diminutive frames and going back to Soldado. I,d be more than happy to see him return home and replace him
with an 8 million Hernandez from Utd. I think this boy at 26 has something to prove. I think his work ethic would suit Poch's system and his anticipation is sharper than Soldado and he has much quicker feet.

Said it already and it has been poo-pooed. But if the Depay deal is more than just a rumour. He and Hernandez
in. Chadli (Sunderland?) and Bobby Solider (Ath Madrid?) out.

Anybody watch the BeInSport coverage in the U.S.? It was fucking brutal. The announcers continually referred to Holtby, Eriksen, and Kane all as "Holtby" because they all have the "same haircut" and "same bleached blond hair" (huh?). They said it will be interesting to see if Vertonghen fills in some at CB this season instead of his usual LB (this isn't Belgium). They couldn't even keep up with subs, and not to mention all the mispronounced names.
:paulinhofacepalm:
I am so glad preseason is over.
It was brutal and I heard the same things. Total clowns. Any true professional would have done a little research before getting on-air and spouting bullshit.

Match hadn't even started...

:pochserious2:

and hey, it saves at least 10 pages of having to justify yourself to a certain high posting non-uk resident! :townhmm:

1) Goes to WHL
2) Takes photos
3) Thinks about Sammy
4) Uses photos to prove himself to Sammy
5) Get mugged off for taking photos by CB
6) Blame Sammy because he took photos

Sad, sad day out
