Nothing confirmed though? They say the big terraced section is designed to generate atmosphere, which is great in theory, but it will still need the right types of fans there, who will need to be policed a bit more.... diplomatically shall we say. I just worry that deep down Levy and the suits don't trust those "types" of fans and will not sanction a proper ultras section like we see at Dortmund and other great European grounds. Hope at least they are watching and learning from the monumental disaster unfolding at the Reader's Wives Arena.
The single tier stand has been designed to help the atmosphere - if they didn't trust the fans like you say we'd have ended up with loads of corporate seats/boxes around the whole stadium.

Holy shit...not even a month...

It does look a bit like a stadium, I suppose

Building the largest 'kop' in the country suggests they will be housing our noisier fans there to create an atmosphere. Doubt they'd make it a mix up of families and people who want to stand and sing. Levy isn't that stupid, also wasn't there plans to make that the safe standing stand if the change in laws allow it?

The difference between us and the Spanners at the OS, is ours is a football stadium that has been designed specifically for us in mind. It is most certainly not an athletics stadium pretending to be something else.

West Ham situation is partly down to the fact that the stadium was never designed to have football matches played at it, and so therefore deal with football supporters and the issues that they bring.

Plus it seem like the owners have paid no thought into how their existing fan base will settle into the new stadium. The more cynical Spammers are already saying that it is all part of some horrible plan to further commercialise the club and force out the more hardcore support in favour of families and day trippers. I wouldn't put it past them.

They've paid for nothing and got worse than nothing in return. Their owners greed has fucked them over. Shame. Let's have a good old laugh whilst they tear chunks out of each other and get relegated.

From our own POV you would hope that some considerable lessons can be learnt at their expense.

Ultimately, as a supporter, it is mostly out of our hands. We have to have faith in the club and its management, and do all we can through the trust and other avenues to make them aware of our hopes and aspirations for our match day experience at the new ground.

I think as always with Levy and Co we will see a compromise. There will be unhappy people and the experience will be different. But the supporters will make the new stadium if they are allowed to and are prepared to.

One fear is that after a large amount of games at Wembley, any negative feelings toward the club aren't carried over into the new stadium which will have its own period of adjustment.

Thanks for the replies. I'm probably just worrying too much. I really do like the plans and was delighted when the single tiered end was unveiled. Juventus, Bayern, Dortmund and others have shown what is possible with modern stadiums, ie, they don't have to be soulless, corporate cash machines. Arse and West Ham are good lessons in how not to do it.

Still interested in knowing if there has been much dialogue between fan groups and club hierarchy.

We're not West Ham, we know what we're doing...as for the dialogue, check out the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust website.
