Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I hate to be pessimistic, but we probably won't hear about this guy again until he's released on a free after countless unsuccessful loan moves.

If you listen carefully you can already hear Windy practicing how to say his name for the loan section of podcast

Do you remember Musa Yahaya, the 16-year-old Nigerian kid who was dubbed the 'New Iniesta' and has been training with us for a while? Apparently he doesn't speak English, and it's been a bit of a problem. Generally, when some new recruit arrives only knowing Spanish or French or Portuguese, that's not really much of a problem, because there are coaches and other players at the club that speak those languages. But sadly, there doesn't seem to be anyone at the club that knows Yahaya's language, Hausa.

Yahaya's agent Babawo Mohammed talked to Nigerian website SL10.ng about this, and apparently Spurs have hired a teacher who speaks Hausa and English to tutor him. Mohammed talked about some other aspects of his life at Spurs as well.

"Tottenham Hotspur have hired an English teacher for Musa Yahaya. The lady speaks Hausa and English, so it's easy for Musa to understand what is being taught. She comes three times a week to tutor him. Before now, he spoke only Hausa and little Nigerian pidgin English, but he has improved now. During training, he wasn't really understanding what they were telling him to do ... On the pitch, they are highly impressed with his performance. He is staying in their club house and they take care of his meals. A vehicle picks him from the club house and takes him to training every day."

We won't be seeing Yahaya in a match anytime soon -- he's not yet eligible for a work permit -- but I'm sure you'll continue to find hype pieces about him between now and his debut. Hopefully he really is the second coming of Andres Iniesta.

Yahaya and Azzaoui.

Make of this what you guys want, but I posted some ITK (from SC) in the Transfer thread.
I'll post it here too:

Trix on Musa Yahaya ...
Checked COYS on the way in and saw the Yahaya thread so thought I'd see what anyone knew about him. One of the agents seemed very surprised we had got him as he said Citeh were very much interested in him as "he is going to be the next big African player". There was also a Villa scout on board who had watched all of the the U17 world cup, where he stood out head and shoulders above everybody(which led to some joking about how old he actually was) and said they had been very interested but knew they had no chance considering the clubs looking at him. He also said IF(this word was emphasised) he settles quickly to life in England he could very well be in and around the match day squad very quickly HE IS THAT GOOD. He also said it should help that he has family living in London, which was speculated as to why he chose us over some others, it was also reiterated(by an agent) that our behind the scenes people are excellent at helping foreign players settle. They all seemed to agree it was a massive coup for us considering most of Europe's elite were looking to bring him in. Worth noting none of them had heard he had actually signed for us though.

It sounds pretty optimistic, if this all is true.

They don't even play the same position. The only similarity is that they are African.

Anyway this kid's agent is supposedly a crook. I'll only believe he's Spurs when the club announce it.
Reference was the to age vs. hype, not enthnicity

That can't be right... no one in the British media 'dubs' anyone of a different skin colour as "the new Such-and-Such" they have to be the same colour, or at least tone... and if not, then they have to play for the same club, so that direct comparisons can be made (up)!! British Journalistic Law innit??

Ade was the new Kanu (and both played for them, which was convenient!) ✓✓
Lukaku
as the next Drogba (see how easy this is?) ✓✓✓
Mattia de Sciglio (AC Milan) was the new Maldini (also AC Milan, funny that!) ✓
Isco was the new Zidane (both Real Madrid!) ✓
Alen Halilovic was the new Messi ✓ though it was doomed as soon as we showed an interest!
Terry Dixon was the new Rooney ✓ but a definite X for actually happening. Once again, we ruined his career and any chance of an accurate 'dubbing'!
