Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My 22 year old son Michael Read was hit by a car and killed on the 2nd of October.
He was a massive Spurs fan and we watched all the matches together. He will be mentioned in the obituary section of the programme on Sunday, and I will be sitting in my usual seat, but without him next to me. We miss him so much.
It would be great to get everyone applauding in his memory on 22 mins. He would love that. I'll be in stand 503 with some of his family. If you could do that and spread the word through any other forums it would make Sunday's game even more special for us and for Michael. COYS.

It was an honour to join in the applause for Michael. We saw you stand up to acknowledge the applause (thank you) and when you hugged the person next to you the magnitude of your pain and loss and how immensely proud of your son you must be really hit home. Both my wife and I had a tear in our eye.
Rest in peace Michael, forever one of us xxx

Norwich fan in peace..........
I have posted this on the Pinkun Norwich City forum, and our fans will be applauding with you. Your terribly sad loss reminds us that there are some things far more important than sporting rivalries. Stay strong, we are with you.

Thanks to everyone for your support and kind words. Michael would be so happy with the love and bond from fellow supporters. The stadium was definitely our happy place together. If you see a short 53 year old man slightly drunk and crying on Sunday, that will be me.

Me and my wife (sitting in Michael's seat) will be in the 2 seats at the end of the row just above the entrance to the stairs, in row 12, 503 (to the right of the stairs as you come out into the stand, facing the pitch). My Daughter and her boyfriend are right up near the back of 503 in row 27. I'll be wearing Michael's home shirt with M.READ 99" on the back. We will be in the goal line bar and then the Dispensary bar, West stand level 5, so if you see me, say hello.
"We are Tottenham, super Tottenham......" is probably the best song for Michael. Let's hope it's a good performance, a win, a goal (or two) for Harry, and great applause for poor little Arthur on 6 mins (this is hopefully also being done) and then for our dear Michael on 22 mins.
Thank you again everyone. This means a lot to us.

Both tributes were well observed, and highly emotional.
There were a few guys asking who the 22nd minute applause was for, and when we pointed up to your block and explained, you could just feel that raw, raucous emotion.

Sang Michael's name, and a few around me joined in, but not sure if you heard it up in block 503?
The 'We are Tottenham' and subsequent 'Yiddo-Yiddo' got a really good airing.

A Tribute to both your Son, and your own bravery.

Wishing you all the strength in the world, and heartfelt regards as you start the unenviable process of coming to terms with such a tragedy.

When my wife's mother passed she was very upset for weeks. One day when she was sitting alone in our bedroom thinking on her mom. She suddenly smelled the perfume that her mother wore. The music box that her mother had given her was sitting on our dresser. It suddenly began to play, it had not been wound in years in fact we thought it was broken it hadn't played in years.

This event gave my wife a great deal of peace. I have had other experiences that have led me to believe this is not the end. Until then we fight the good fight, and when our time here is up we go home. God bless Chris until you get to see him again.

I contacted the club, who have been great with their support but they won't put anything on the screens as it is only for ex players, apparently. I am just hoping the word gets around. I am only on this forum but if any of you are on other forums then please spread the word. Michael would be so proud of he is acknowledged by fellow fans. Thanks to everyone for their kind words.

Watching & listening at home, there was a very good, audible, sustained round of applause for Michael. Well done to those at the match.
