lets be honest...we dodged a huge bullet with damiao...
dont think the situations are comparable. ALL South American teams think there players are worth more than they are, especially when they have cracked the first 11 for the international team..
if the agent is happy and he sems to be, cant imagaine we should have too many problems if we really want him..

I don't think so. Villarreal are fine with selling him it sounds like and he wants to come. Spurspanyol seems to think if we up our bid to 15m-16m sterling that it will go through. People are still scarred by Moutinho's situation but that was for more money and Porto didn't want to sell at all.

Other teams navigate these situations with relative ease. Plus, now we have Baldini who has seems to have sped up our transfer process and he's worked in Italy and Spain where third party ownership is much more common.

So basically it sounds like Villarreal would accept 12m if the agent waived some of his portion. If not, then they would want a higher bid to make up the difference. Hopefully this gets solved relatively quickly and we don't try to get silly.

Sorry guys but this has "spursy" written all over it. Apart from when we sold Bale and had all that large amount of cash we have never done easy deals under levy and 9 times out of 10 we never get the players we desperately want. I would love this to happen as we are so desperate for a class centre back but this is spurs and this won't happen. Negative yes but seen it so many times with our club. Schneiderlin and Rodriguez were basically spurs players according to the most reliable source BBC and look how that's turned out.

If we sign this guy having just signed Dier, we'll be up to six CB's again...

...someone or sometwo is/are going to have to go.
 
He started the day in their squad for the Boro friendly, then when teams were announced he wasn't even on the bench. Surely we can't be that close already?
