In its written reasons the independent commission said the Premier League had asked for a five-point deduction for the club.

The commission decided that any breach of PSR justifies a three-point deduction, with an additional two points because Everton's breach of £16.6m - 15.8% above the £105m threshold - is deemed significant.

However, the commission accepted Everton's arguments for mitigation in relation to the fact the club has:

  • Already been deducted points this season
  • Suffered a loss of revenue because of the suspension of a sponsorship deal with Russian company USM
  • Made an early admission of guilt
The commission concluded that the fact Everton have already been punished this season merits a two-point reduction in punishment, with a further point for the loss of sponsorship revenue and early admission of guilt.

So 5 points for the offences reduced to 2 points, as this 'commission' bent over backwards to find ways to reduce the punishment : and still Everton complaining !

I know it is different but it’s this kind of thing that worries me about the Man City charges and them getting a light punishment.

they won’t exist in 18 months
Everton are an absolutely plumb asset once that ground is built (Anfield isn't getting any gigs after that). It is going to be stunning.

But not sure why anyone would want to fund the end of the build and the horrific losses on the field when they and the stadium will be going cheap in 18 months.

777 or Everton?
Both. They need to go down and completely reset their cost base IMO. Write off debts, bankruptcy etc. get rid of all players. They are a basket case and can’t keep hanging on like this

Unless someone pays their debts and has a long term vision and can afford to fund the restructuring eg paying off players early then I dont see how they are sustainable

This 777 is ridiculous, they will just layer on more expensive debt and make it even worse

Regardless of what 777 say, a delay to the end of May might serve them well as its passed the end of the season, and gives them a more certain base to negotiate with..

Given Everton only 2 points above relegation, by end of May it will be known if they are in PL next season or relegated - if in PL it will be far easier to renegotiate loans etc knowing next season what kind of revenues are possible.

If relegated, negotiations will take place against the background of Championship football next season with PL relegation payments.

If still in PL, there might be more chance of an alternative bidder as well, who everyone bar maybe Moshiri, would prefer rather than the moneyless 777.
