TBF to "everyone" that was the first season in three years where they won nothing.
Insane that EFC are being schooled by Brighton here.
When the PL was being planned there was a "top 5" and EFC were in it.
Around about that time Brighton were in div 4. They sold the Goldstone to property developers, had to play at Gillingham, oh and they avoided dropping out of the league on the last day of the season on GD.
EFC will only be saved because they still have a massive support in a big 2-club City.
And only because Cantona got a red card at Palace and tried to decapitate a fan Bruce Lee style.

Brighton are always held up as the shining example - but themselves owe Bloom £373m (down from £406m the year before), so without him are effectively bust.

What is the point of a 2pts points deduction.
They should be. They’ve got off lightly. A second offence should have a greater punishment.
I feel like the premier league are very reluctant to practically doom a club the size of Everton to the championship through points deductions

In its written reasons the independent commission said the Premier League had asked for a five-point deduction for the club.
The commission decided that any breach of PSR justifies a three-point deduction, with an additional two points because Everton's breach of £16.6m - 15.8% above the £105m threshold - is deemed significant.
However, the commission accepted Everton's arguments for mitigation in relation to the fact the club has:
- Already been deducted points this season
- Suffered a loss of revenue because of the suspension of a sponsorship deal with Russian company USM
- Made an early admission of guilt
So 5 points for the offences reduced to 2 points, as this 'commission' bent over backwards to find ways to reduce the punishment : and still Everton complaining !
