Eriksen needs players to make clever runs around him and sometimes even fucking possibly releases it back to him in one touch instead of 47.
Eriksen is no leader at all. If his team performs poorly, he performs poorly and vice versa. That is also very clear when he plays for the Danish national team which has played mostly indifferent matches during Eriksen's time there. Eriksen does not lift such a team, rather he helps drag it down with his timid approach. That will not change because it is a matter of personality. The real problem is not Eriksen, however, it is Poch who seems utterly clueless.
The issue we have with this lad is there is no one to replace him.

All this 'personality' stuff is nonsense, you don't have to have a Scotty Parkeresque mentality, some players are just layed back more doesn't mean their level of effort isn't there just means it's concentrated on different areas of their game

Anyway IMO people are worrying for no reason. Eriksen has been a bit patchy but he still shows moments of brilliance. For strikers and wingers they can still look good when the team is playing poorly because they can grab goals and beat players etc, Eriksen will need other players to be on his wavelength. Chadli and Townsend are not suitable to play at the same time there's not enough guile between them so they can't link up well.
The personality stuff does not matter in Eriksen's case if only people would stop putting so much responsibility on him. When they do, somehow you can't avoid speaking of his personality becuse he does not have the personality to carry such a responsibility -- especially when there is no spirit in the team.

Without question on his day he is quality. His vision and passing are class and he's popped up with more than just a few important goals.
But having said all that I'm often left wondering if we'd actually miss him if he weren't in the side most weeks. And for some strange reason I never see a team sheet and feel excited that he's there, which is a weird thing to say when I know he's one of our best players.
I just don't feel like he's fully "arrived" yet and I struggle to recall any games where he's run the show or notably made us tick.
He's a young player and hopefully he's still got a lot of development ahead of him but does he have it in him to be our main man or will he always show flashes of brilliance but never have any real consistency?
