Woke up, and still mad we sat back after the equaliser! Had them on a fork, and we badly needed all three points to stay in europe spots. Just why? This new "style" of us is just so not Spurs.

Don't. Sit. Back. Should be on the wallpaper in stadium by now..
I’m the same. Far too many people happy with a draw when it was there to go win. The last 15 minutes was incredible to watch as we sat back. Still annoyed as fuck by how negative we were considering we had them on the ropes. Did Mason think a draw is good for his reputation and didn’t want to risk losing? He should have been braver and went for the winner. A draw is nothing in terms of putting pressure on Utd. A win would have made them uncomfortable as fuck in the last few games.

What are you agreeing to disagree on? Mason clearly brought Tanganga on to protect the point, unless you think he was bringing a defender on to win the game then how can you disagree with that? Only a total loon would bring on a defender late on in an attempt to score a winner...

:contelol:
Why did he think protecting the point was the right thing to do at that point considering how the game was going?

it seems to be a common thread from managers that this is not something they advocate

therefore it has to be the job of the captain on the field to get this message across and bully the players into driving on.

That's not relevant to the point I was making...

Agree with him or not, the intent is obvious and far from baffling.

Nice as a winner would've been, given the fragile state of confidence at the club can you imagine how crushing it would have been to come back to 2-2 and then concede? Exactly as we did in the last home game against Bournemouth?

He didn't even go ultra defensive, it took us back to the 343 that we started with. The move might not have been popular, but it was the sensible one.

We do have to play again on Sunday v Liverpool. The Porro and Perisic subs were on 77 minutes , we had another 19 minutes to play. Maybe both were feeling leggy and needed protection for Sunday. Tanganga was pure preserving the point and Mason has explained why. It was a massive effort to level the game and he was concerned the players might drop off. So he protected by adding Tanganga who is pretty attritional in defence.
I understand both sides of the situation whether to finish Utd off or defend the draw.

Who cares about how fragile we’ve been. It was there to win and in the grand scheme of things it wouldn’t make that much difference if we lost because the draw means we are now really fighting Villa for Europe and we still have to play them. . A win would have changed everything in terms of confidence and the atmosphere with supporters leading into the last few games. We might not have won but have the balls to try.

Seriously? You don't think that having fought back to 2-2 that conceding to lose late on would have had any impact on the players?

A win would have changed nothing, the rest of the season is purely about getting back some good feeling around the club, top 4 is gone and outside of that is totally irrelevant to pretty much everybody. Lose last night for being too gung ho chasing a winner and we head to Anfield with morale completely in the toilet, that could have been devastating.

And as said, we went back to 343, it was hardly giving up on a winner entirely.

The hoardings beaming adverts for F1 Go Karts, Beyonce, Red Hot Chili Peppers and WizKid while we were 2-0 down in a quiet stadium were utterly depressing. The ENIC vision in a nutshell. At least we had Kane to drive the comeback. Dreading his departure.

Balls to the constant digs about Beyonce etc...... Clubs have been doing that shit for decades.
