Yes I do believe it could really affect us.
We were very nearly at the point of being taken seriously. Now gone.
:pocheyes::vertna:

And it's precisely this type of over exaggeration that has people 'disappointed' that we're not winning the title each year just 'cos we're a very good team!

Whilst I ageee the manner was a fucking ballache, losing last night DOESN'T mean it's ALL OVER... or that ALL HOPE HAS GONE and we've suddenly become relegation fodder with our season now UP IN SMOKE....
....in exactly the same way as being 2 up and coasting at half time DOESN'T mean the game is already won! yet most in the stands, online, and more crucially on the PITCH seemed to think it was job done.
:roseunsure::sonhmm::dierno::dembelewtf::deledoubt:

It's all about perspective!
My main concern is that up until the 55th minute... I thought most of the starting line up could make a good case for starting on Saturday!! 15 minutes later, and it felt all too familiar, and 'Spursy'
Which in itself is very UN-New Spursy!!

Why do every opposing support hate you lot?
Ever crossed your minds?..no of course not.
Lived in Arsenals shadow for decades and have won fuck all in all that time..spent fortunes over that time trying to be up there with the big boys...including Woolwich..
Spurs always go spursy when it matters..on and off the pitch

You cunts have spent more to assemble a relegated shit heap in a rented athletics stadium than we've put together a title challenging team that closed WHL unbeaten and may top the most difficult CL group which includes Madrid. It's time for your morning pills, isn't it?

Nothing like a result as this to get the feet firmly back on planet earth.
Disappointing - yes
End of the world - No
With all the recent excitement Id forgotten who we are - disapointment certainly focuses the mind.
Utd next - COYS

In all honesty we've leapfrogged this competition. Three seasons ago I would have been happy to win it. Only last night I was saying it was Mickey Mouse and if we won it we couldn't shout about it as we would be mocked by everyone. For sure our players and club want to win something but I struggle to believe this is what they desire, I even think the fa cup is a bit of a stretch. Personally I would have preferred poch to drop more first team players to have sent the signal to West Ham we didn't care but poch is more intelligent than me. What he did is used a competitive match to try and reintegrate unfit players and give some youth a taste. Our attack, midfield and defence was severely under strength and so was our mental attitude. Will be a different case Sunday.

When we won the League Cup in 2008 very few people gave us much respect. Even though we've won nothing since, we're respected as a force in the Premier League. "Lads, it's Tottenham," has become, "Lads... it's Tottenham." And increasingly in European football we're being seen as a team you'd rather avoid.
I'd rather win stuff than being seen as a team you'd rather avoid.

Throwing 2 goal lead at home against local rival is just unacceptable.

We have revived their season and saved someones job.

we've leapfrogged the Laegue cup & FA cup, shake your head
we have no chance of winning the CL, so in your mind we only go for the League, the league cup is good enough for Jose & Pep, we need to win things, we have a squad of 26 players only 16 play in league or CL, so what are the others doing week in/out, this was their chance to play, but when the going gets tough they look to the boss and where is he, he's sitting on the bench looking at shoes, its too late having a go at the players today, he should have done it last night
this shows to other teams we are still spursy, when it comes down to it, we just don't have that little extra needed

Ridiculous that one of them would spout off after 1 win. Especially with this kind of drivel ^

I couldn’t give a fuck about this cup. Nobody else does, why should I? Poch certainly doesn’t. I was one of 5000 who went to Forest mid-week in the 00’s in sub-zero temperatures when it still meant something, but now I’m being lectured by a 21 year old who melts at the first bump in the road. Furball is right - you are an extremely spoilt person. Spurs don’t owe you happiness.
Shit mentality, loser mentality

Mourinho will look at Pochettino and think mate you don't get it.

You don't kmow how to create a winning team and he might be right.

Whatever anyone thinks we do not progress as a club when you lose games like last night. It should not happen.

Forgot the nonsense about who played. The line is that the manager must instill the importance of every single game mattering.

Players cannot switch off at any time if success as a club is what you want.

At home and 2 up. And we lose. Utterly indicative of inherent weakness that can be exploited and will out itself at crucial times.

Only when I am proven wrong will I not be right.

If West Ham were a dog it would have been put to sleep years ago. And personally I don't begrudge them the odd happy moment in an otherwise miserable existence that they know deep down will continue for decades, for ever probably. They're just one of the 14 bookmaker/casino/money lender sponsored clubs making up the numbers in the league, some have the capacity to become something more and join the big boys. They don't. Their attempt to rebrand as London United, playing in a "World class" stadium, has backfired spectacularly and made them even more pathetic and pointless than ever. They don't even produce decent players for us to buy at knockdown prices anymore. If they're the "academy of football" we must be PhD of it. The one decent player they've had in years dumped them and went on strike to get out of the dump.
