Reasons;
1) Constant changing of managers
We thoroughly lack an identity since Poch left us. Not that this is an issue but our decay really started with Mourinho joining us when his philosophy doesn’t fit into our DNA.
Nuno is the worse appointment in terms of philosophy and DNA.
2) Players misfit. The appointment of Paratici is good… but he came in at the wrong time.
This is a period of great instability and he has done his job rather alright so far. Why so?
He recruited players based on the philosophy of the current manager (Nuno then). Eg., Emerson and Gill might have been a good fit in Nuno system but somehow, they have no place in Conte system.
3) Gross mismanagement by Levy.
If we were to put down the catastrophic decline to one person, it has to be Levy.
His business acumen would be great for profit but terrible for footballing success.
1) he sack Poch (perhaps rightfully so) but it would not have got to this stage if he had supported Poch by giving him the funds earlier.
2) he appointed Mourinho when his expiry date is up.
3) he ruthlessly sacked Mourinho on the eve of a final, which I am sure doesn’t go down well with most other managers and players…
This led to difficulties in appointing a new manager in the aftermath.
4) he rejected Conte and appointed Nuno becoz he must have thought Nuno is a yes man which would save him tonnes of money….
5) If he doesn’t supply the required fund to Conte this time round, and Conte leave, so will tonnes of many other fans who will surely be disillusioned. Surely, if we still FAIL with the best manager of earth now, we are hopeless!
