Nope and Italians league is leading for the champions league 5th spot .
English and Italian clubs in the European quarter-finals:

CL
England 2 Italy 0

EL
England 2 Italy 3

ECL
England 1 Italy 1

Edit: Only 3 Italian clubs, at most, can reach the semi-finals. AC Milan play Roma in the EL quarter-finals.
Edit (2): Liverpool play Atalanta in the EL. If they beat them, Italy will have 2 clubs, at most, in the semis.

Atletico Madrid knocking Dortmund out and Villa, Liverpool and City all advancing should all but confirm it really (unless Leverkusen and/or Bayern win their comps)

Sadly, I think Woolwich knock Bayern out anyway. Which will basically guarantee it.

It's nailed on. That the 5th placed English side gets ECL football. It is what it is but despite the FACT we have improved, it still feels underwhelming to be scraping 5th considering how we started the season.
Scraping CL qualification seems to be in the Spurs DNA at this point. If there are 4 spots, we'll just about finish 4th most seasons.

If there's 5 spots, we'll just about finish 5th.

If they expanded the CL to 17 PL teams, I expect that we'd narrowly escape relegation and qualify.

That is the best outcome for us....so unlikely to happen!

It doesn't seem to track with most people on here because they're so wrapped up in what the scum may or may not do, but Man City winning another treble would be fucking awful on a few levels.

So; excepting them (or Liverpool) winning the EPL as a deterrent; the last thing I want is those corrupt cunts winning a European cup.

After the CL first leg results :
Woolwich 2-2 Bayern
Real 3 - 3 Mancity
Atletico Madrid 2 - 1 B. Dortmund
PSG 2 - 3 Barcelona

German clubs get 2 decent away results, all to be decided in 2nd legs of the CL matches.
Mancity has the better result of the 2 PL sides with 2nd leg at home.

Why have Italy accrued so many points with no sides in the ECL semi. Is it the Ueffa and conference?

In short, Italian sides have scored the points which are given as follows :

Each win is worth two coefficient points, a draw gets you one, and you get nothing for a defeat.

If a match goes to extra time, the score after 120 minutes is used. Penalties are not taken into account if the game is drawn, as they are used to determine the tie rather than the individual match.

There are also bonus points for getting to certain stages, which help give extra prominence to those teams who do well in the higher-profile competitions.

Champions League bonus points
4 - Group stage participation
5 - Round of 16
1 - QF, SF, final

Europa League bonus points
4 - Group winners
2 - Group runners-up
1 - Round of 16, QF, SF, final

Europa Conference League bonus points
2 - Group winners
1 - Group runners-up
1 - SF, final

The points gained by all clubs are added together, and that total score is divided by the number of clubs a country has in Europe in the season. That gives the coefficient average.

Atalanta, AC Milan and Roma did well in EL, and Fiorentina in CL

Inter, Napoli and Lazio were knocked out in CL in R16

So in short all Italian sides have got decent results through group stages etc whereas ManU and Newcastle finished bottom of their CL groups.

Final relevant scores :

Leverkeusen 2-0 Wham
Liverpool
0 - 3 Atalanta
Villa 2-1 Lille

Wham and Liverpool have a tough 2nd leg to try to turn things round, Villa have a slender lead to go to Lille with.

AC Milan 0-1 Roma
