Tactics aren't helping in any way, but the midfielders drop deep to receive it and then play it back to the player who gave it to them or sideways to a different CB. Absolutely no forward passing at all from either of them. I'm sure about 90% of our forward pass attempts have come from the CBs playing hopeful long balls. The midfield is below par, and the system is horrible.

It's hard to control a game with a 2 man midfield.
It's set up to counter or attack in a quick transition from back to front

But the back line is such a comedy act that the system is never gonna work as intended .
And with Sanchez on now, it's gone from comedy to spoof

Perfect opportunity to go 4 at the back and put sarr on. Not only is that better for us it's also one option NOT to bring Sanchez on

That’s the problem with having Stellini in charge. Proper managers are able to switch between systems when things aren’t working. Loads of teams are swapping between 3/4 at the back this season.

But because Stellini has just put the cones out for his whole life he doesn’t know how to do anything except what he watched Conte doing. The players are clearly afraid to play out in this formation. So either say some magic words that will help the players rediscover their ball sack or change the formation to help them. Don’t just put Davinson on for fuck’s sake.
