Surely most of this is down to timing?

If with ten minutes to go Jim said the following we would have to be happy right?

"Tottenham just sold bale for world record fee"

"Madrid sell ozil for €50m to arse to fund bale purchase"

"Spurs react quickly by signing Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches, Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Christian Eriksen, Etienne Capoue & Nacer Chadli"

Everyone would be going mental saying how amazing these signings would be and that spurs had done amazing business. It's just a case of the arse getting all the last minute headlines. We'll come good...

Look we still have Lennon, so with bae and bale gone we're two regulars from last season down but we have sandro, kaboom, rose and seven new beauties in. Are we really pissed? If we had won at the weekend we would still be buzzing but we now feel as if we've bought average players... Will take some time until they're flicking it around like brazil.

Also you wait until the wc next year, our team value will double with all the exposure our new signings are going to get. Better have cl by then otherwise they'll all be offski aswell.

So, thoughts ...

Cons:
Losing Bale,
Not getting a LB,
Not being able to sell Ade/Defoe to get in a new striker,
Being Cunted by Chelsea (Willian)
Being cunted by RM (aka ... Bale/Ozil/Coentrao)

Pros:
7 superb signings,
Pretty much getting rid of all the deadwood we had,
Getting a World record fee = Pretty much a 0 net balance
Keeping AVB,
And probably the biggest of all ... Baldini

Overall a great great window ...
Well done to Levy, Baldini, AVB, and co.
And good luck to the team!

Super excited to Carpe Diem and hold up our motto: Audere Est Facere

I'm out ... it was fun biting nails and discussing football with you all ... so, see ya lads next window (and maybe on match day)!
:coys:

Does seem odd that we leave ourselves exposed in one position when we've done SO MUCH this summer to ensure every other position (perhaps other than Soldado) has genuine competition.

BREAKING NEWS - 02 Sep @17:00: Spurs sign Brazilian Paulinho who shone at the Confederation's Cup this summer, for a Spurs transfer record, £17M!
BREAKING NEWS 02 Sep @18:00: Tottenham have resolved their striker shortage with the signing of Europe's third top goal scorer last season: Roberto Soldado, for a new club record £26M.
BREAKING NEWS - 02 Sep @19:00: Tottenham complete the signing of young Belgium winger Nacer Chadli for a fee thought to be about £7m!
BREAKING NEWS 02 Sep @20:00 Tottenham sign Capoue, voted best French player last season, for a bargain £9M!
BREAKING NEWS 02 Sep @21:00: Tottenham pick up talented play maker Eriksen for a reported £11M in what could be the bargain of the transfer window.
BREAKING NEWS 02Sep @22:00 Vlad Chiriches, who shone against Chelsea in Europe last season is now a Spurs player having signed for a reported £8.5M.
BREAKING NEWS 02 Sep @22:59 Levy and Baldini own the transfer window, leaving it late but pulling off the wonderous signing of Erik Lamela from Roma for a fee of £25M rising to a possible £30M, smashing their transfer record for a third time today for the 21 year old star.

OLD NEWS 07 Aug: Woolwich sign class act Ozil but had to pay top dollar for it, laying out more than £40M to get their man.
Unfortunatley, reported interest in di Maria, Hernandez, Cabaye and other top, top, targets, did not come to fruition, leaving Woolwich arguably a little short.

Looks good doesn't it?
The only fucking difference between reality and the above is the date and time of the signings. We fucking owned this window and had a much better result than Woolwich did. By a million fucking miles. Anyone who cannot see that and feels a little sad or something, needs to give themselves a good hard slap round the face.

The only sad thing for me is that we are still paying dear Ades wages.

Yeah, unless he plays and starts knocking them in, it's a shame that we couldn't shift him. Expensive to have either on the bench, or not being played, or being played and not contributing. I hope we get surprised by him this season, but I'm not holding my breath.
