Looks like its the end of the PL Transfer Window with no changes, so time to revive the thread to remind ourselves of the players we have - and how they fit into the squad under the tougher UEFA rules rather than PL rules. Of course still 3 weeks to go to register the CL squad and 3 weeks where we can sell/loan out players to EFL and continental sides (and sign players to our squad for CL) :

CT = Club Trained (Minimum 4 players)
AT = Association Trained (Minimum 8 players including Club trained players)
If we are short in either category, we lose that number from the 25 man squad.

There are 20 overseas trained players (those not designated CT or AT) under UEFA rules whereas we are only allowed 17 overseas trained players in the squad so (arbitrarily) I have not included Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, Vincent Janssen and Juan Foyth (who is u21 but not eligible for List B as he has not spent long enough at Spurs) to get down to the 17 overseas trained players. One or more of the overseas players (likely Janssen based upon him being excluded from pre-season) may leave to join continental clubs before their TW's close, to help clean up the squad.

1 Hugo Lloris
2 Michel Vorm
3 Paulo Gazzaniga

4. Jan Vertonghen
5 Toby Alderweireld
6 Davinson Sánchez

7 Kieran Trippier (AT)
8 Serge Aurier
9 Ben Davies (Overseas Trained as trained with a club affiliated with FAW)
10 Danny Rose (CT)
11 Connor Ogilvie (CT ? - loans might have downgraded him to AT)

12 Mousa Dembélé
13 Victor Wanyama
14 Eric Dier
15 Harry Winks (CT)

16 Christian Eriksen
17 Dele Alli (AT)
18 Heung-min Son
19 Erik Lamela
20 Lucas Moura
21 Moussa Sissoko

22 Harry Kane (CT)
23 Fernando Llorente

Thus our largest UEFA squad size we can name is 23 players - including Connor Ogilvie ((LB/CB) who has done well on loan in L1 but Poch seems never to have fancied him, perhaps due to lack of speed.

Additionally we can have an unlimited number of u21 players trained at clubs affiliated to the FA - players such as :
Kyle Walker-Peters (RB/LB)
Cameron Carter-Vickers (CB)
Luke Amos (CM)
TJ Eyoma (CB/RB)
Anthony Georgiou (LW)
Josh Onomah (CM)
Tashan Oakley-Boothe (CM)
Jonathan Dinzeyi (CB)
Japhet Tanganga (CB/LB)
Oliver Skipp (DM)
being some of the most likely (plus Marcus Edwards if he stays).

Differences for PL Squad

Under PL squad regulations, Davies is treated as a 'Home Grown' player and Foyth as an u21, which eases our Overseas Trained player problem for PL purposes down to one - and allows Foyth to definitely be in the PL Squad and as Davies is treated as Homegrown it allows another overseas player to join the squad (either N'Koudou or Janssen) bringing us up to a 25 man squad.

If Vorm has fallen to third choice, maybe he should be sold to make room for some home grown yoof.

Would have been an easy enough choice - Vorm's contract had come to an end, yet Spurs renewed it, so it looks less likely now.

Meanwhile Spurs sold a very good home grown goalkeeper in David Button (ex E u20 and E u21) when Poch first arrived who has played some 200 Championship games since and has just joined PL Brighton to give competition to their existing goalkeeper. He would have been a very decent 3rd choice goalkeeper, and probably challenging for 2nd place.

It must be remembered that whilst we cannot add to our squad after Thursday, we can sell/loan players. We are particularly vulnerable should a big overseas offer come in for certain players. Last season we bought Llorente on the final day meaning Janssen had to go which he did. We need to do the same this season and IF the right player becomes available, buy him and worry about losing an overseas player afterwards.
