I know it may not be quite the same as the original but shouldn't we call the south stand the shelf?
A single tier stand isn't a shelf

Not if we don't allow it.Just refuse to call it anything other than the Lane.Should be the Park Lane and the the East stand The Shelf....the ground should just be The Lane.
No one will say "we're going down the Nike"....no Spurs fan anyway
"We've not got a shelf side, no shelf side, we've not got a shelf"A single tier stand isn't a shelf
Whilst Chelsea get the "Packard Bell End"Single tier stand should be named cock end
Only problem I can see with that is The Shelf will never be sung due to almost all of the East (and West) being handed over to corporate seats. If it's not being sung it will disappear.South = Park Lane
East = Shelf
North = Paxton
Leave them alone like that. No need to mess about.
West has never had a name but the Bill Nicholson stand would work perfectly there.
I reckon there'll be a lot of current Shelfers who head for the southernmost blocks of the new East stand. There'll still be plenty of seats there that aren't corporate/premium.Only problem I can see with that is The Shelf will never be sung due to almost all of the East (and West) being handed over to corporate seats. My impression is that the amount of GA or "normal" ST's being offered in West or East depends on how many Corp/Exec seats are sold. So, could end up with no GA or normal ST in either stand. Or, if there are some available to buy then there could be no more than a 1,000 (guessing) which is hardly going to bouncing and I wouldn't want to be there because of that.I reckon there'll be a lot of current Shelfers who head for the southernmost blocks of the new East stand. Would surprise me each stand would be sold off to advertisers/sponsors e.g The Budwieser Stand.The club should open the naming of the new kop home end to a fans vote.

The Tim Sherwood stand..
Got a ring to it
Agree, but think the aim would be to ring the neck out of every commercial inch.Its a possibility but club may want to consolidate naming and shirt rights with one partner and avoid crass over-commercialisation. Sponsorship on individual stands is a bit much imo. Fans deserve to have their/our home end untouched and named as we decide.
We know that, but it would be good to keep the shelf name alive. I suppose it could be claimed by the top tier of the east stand.A single tier stand isn't a shelf

Agreed.The first team i think to use that name were Woolwich. When they actually still lived at homeWe know that, but it would be good to keep the shelf name alive. I suppose it could be claimed by the top tier of the east stand.
The main thing for me is to avoid calling the south stand a kop.
