Yeah but the decision to bring Dawson on instead of Naughton is somewhat understandable for that reason.Dawson came on because Walker got a knock didn't he ?

I'll await all the replies about "oooh we are 5th.....oooh you are so entitled"
How did that pan out?
We're 6th
I agree though. Would have preferred to see Defoe to come on for Dempsey too.

What on earth was Dempsey supposed to be doing…

We got beat by the better team who haven't lost at home for nearly 2 years. Lets be honest their squad is vastly superior to ours
I know I've used the term "standing fast" repeatedly, it's the theme of this post. AVB is standing fast, and I for one am standing fast with him too.
Not well. Dempsey isn't doing much with or without the ball.
Though I'll not say Defoe would have been any better in this game because, aside from speculating on what might have happened....we'll never really know.
Isn’t it nice to be able to bring on a 20 million pound striker to win you the game
Maybe Andre thought Citeh away would be a different sort of game to Maribor at home and decided to reinforce the middle of the park with Dempsey sitting deep rather than having Defoe further forward.
Personally I would have picked Lloris and played Adebayor behind Defoe in the same formation. Other than that I really don't see what AVB was to supposed to do differently.
To be fair, they are two fairly massive changes
