It was an option to buy after the initial loan, it was ok'd in September. He is only 23 and raw, we will regret this considering some of the true quality shit we should be offloading first. We have Sanchez who has player 10 times more football is older and still makes howlers.
We don't have one defender worth a damn. Realistically we need 2 rb, at least 1lb to compete with Sess and at least 3cb and Rodon

Both Poch and Mourinho did not play him and he went with option to buy. No regrets and would rather get someone new although as not in squad he does not need replacing.

Foyth, especially playing RB, has a dangerous combination of being way too easy to walk around and way to rash in his tackles that lead to penalties and free kicks in dangerous areas.

Good for him for finding a spot at Villareal that seems to really suit him. I can't see any way that he would have worked here, he isn't close to good enough.

Maybe as RCB in a back 3 but then I think he is a downgrade from Tanganga in that spot and not really as good as you would ideally want if we want to be a top 4 club. He would at best be passable and I think we should aim for higher than that.

It would be great if we used the money from him to improve the CB position but unfortunately it looks like we will spend it on someone like Andersen or Mancini instead.

Still ended up as a good piece of business for us and it worked out for him and Villareal which is good to see.

The lad had 24 professional games, only 16 with us, when he left us. How any one can say he wouldn't make it in the PL is laughable.

How many games does he need to show he isn’t good enough?

Teams everywhere make decisions on players will less games all the time.

I also think he could make it in the PL but only at a lower club than what we supposedly aim to be. For a bottom half team he could potentially be ok.

Foyth was never going to be good enough to be a starter for us.

We should've set a higher 'option to buy' fee for him, but selling him wasn't the wrong choice.

He plays for the Argentina national team but according to some Spurs fans, he’s not good enough for us.

He was due to come off contract with us next summer. I think he had a rough ride from some sections of our support base and was unlikely to sign a new contract - players want to be loved not heckled. I think selling him was the right thing to do rather than letting him go for free next summer.
This was his most recent contribution for Argentina...

How many games have utter shitcunts like Sanchez had for the club? Foyth has always looked to have the ability to become twice the player Sanchez ever has or will be for us.

The key difference though? Sanchez cost 42 million. Therefore, like other useless plebs like Sissoko and Lamela, Levy will refuse to sell him no matter how terrible they play week in week out or how they negatively impact the team, because he will never make a profit on them.

His style of play did not suit the premier league

Too weak for a CB and makes too many errors trying to bring ball out of play.
La liga suits him perfectly.

Good move all round imo.

Fair comment, but I think Foyth is far better than both Dier and Sanchez.

Therefore, surely we should be looking to get rid of our worst centre backs first?
I just think getting rid of Foyth for 15 million is ridiculous, considering the new manager hasn’t even had a chance to assess if he could make a player out of him or not.
He’s a project.

He could be better than Dier and Sanchez but right now he’s too weak.

Also he was effectively sold last season, not this season, when we loaned him with an option to buy.

Far better is a stretch, and the main point is that none of the 3 are good enough,

I think the idea that we need to get rid of certain players first is false, we need to get rid of all of the players that aren't good enough, moving Foyth now does nothing to stop us from moving Dier or Sanchez.

I hate being reminded of Foyth. As if we need one more ex player out there that’s a better RB than any of our players.

Walker, Trippier, KWP, Foyth and maybe even Aurier still.

He's still got a brain-fart in him so really we'd be no better off.
