Is Top 4 Gone?

Absolutely. Shows us what a miracle man Pochettino was getting this bunch into the Champions league 4 seasons in a row.
Sure, because it's not like Rose, Toby and Jan have declined whatsoever. Nor that Eriksen doesn't give a flying fuck anymore. Love Poch, but the squad that we had until last season was more than good enough to get top 4. Last season he made magic happen, but we got top 4 because Chelsea, Woolwich and United were extremely shite at the end.

In the 9 seasons before Pochettino took over. we finished 5th on 5 occasions and 4th twice. Pochettino didn’t have to contend with Man U or Woolwich as serious forces in a post Sir Alex and dying days of Wenger era. Chavs bar first season they won it under Conte were fairly shit and disinterested as well for most of those seasons.

And 189 people in the Levy thread still think he's doing a fine job!

Wonder who that can be :mourglasses:

Miracle Man needs to be appreciated for what he achieved with limited resources (compared to some of the opposition). We've witnessed some great football under him. We have a lot to thank him for. He's also partly responsible for where we are now, so this also needs to be taken into consideration.

Anyway, he's not our coach anymore. Let's focus on the present and support the team.

So as well as blaming Poch for recent results, recent performances, players running down their contracts, lack of investment, and George Kevin Nkoudu...we now gonna credit him for the misfortunes of other clubs too.

Fair play :mourthumb:

But it's pretty much the same squad that we have now, mate.
The players have declined though. Also, I think that we used to have someone called Moussa Dembele until last year, which made everything click. Bizarre how everything went to shit the moment we sold him...

Well we here the mantra all the time that we were absolutely nowhere before Pochettino arrived and he changed the club when a simple glance at the actual facts would tell you that we were effectively a Top 5 for a decade before Pochettino arrived and finished 4th twice.

It’s a fairly basic fact as well that Man U dominated when Sir Alexa was there. They won 13 out of 21 leagues 1992/93 to 2012/13 and finished Top 3 in each of the 8 seasons they didn’t win the league. It was a big help to Spurs finishing Top 4 that Man U have fallen off a cliff since Sir Alex retired.

I'd avoid Europa altogether. Focus on the League. If our club wouldn't attract players anymore (which I doubt), José Mourinho certaintly would.

Why should we try and avoid Europa?

Depending how ‘top four’ battle goes next year, having Europa is a good backup if our league form isn’t great. Also, as long as we have a decent squad, I wouldn’t expect our top players to play until the knockout rounds, which is in February/March.

Depending how next year league chase goes, we’ll know then whether to take the EL seriously or not.

Don't need Europa. Focus on building on the summer, and put all of our efforts in winning the League (can be done). Conte did it with the Chavs in 2017 and Jose did it in 2015, where they only had to play one game every week.
