Is there a system? Does it work? Do we have the players for it?

At several points it definitely was, other times sort of 3-3-2-2, but yes, all credit to MrS, today Poche definitely dropped a disguised 4-4-2 on us all.

It was definitely a more flat 4 in midfield than we were use to seeing but Kane was all over the place front to back, side to side. I've developed a deep love for that young man. Legend in the making.

It feels like Poch gave-in a little to the players & players responded by play more of his pressing style.
Poch prefers a 4-2-3-1, but his team sets up better with Kane & Soldado up front. The players pressed on the ball and turnovers setup the scores. They also passed quickly. It should not be a surprise that they played their best game without guys who over-dribble or make poor long passes.
So yes, there is a system, but it is not where we started the season. It's a compromise that both the manager and the players can agree to - and go forward.

It looked a little bit like we were focusing on winning the game more in transition, most noticeably compared to Thursday when we won the ball we tried to do something with some pace, instead of passing it around the back/sideways. Lennon has made himself a case for the starting line up over Lamela, he looks much more effective in a pressing role. It's easier when you play a team like Everton, who attack you, but aren't anywhere near as dangerous as City etc. My worry is once we come up against teams with real pace (of which there are many now) our high line will be undone.
