So what about if he wants to leave. Does Kane have anybsayuin what he wants to do?
Do you really think if a World Record fee came in Levy would insist he goes?
Levy knows a world record fee is fuck all to what Kane is worth to this club.
If we would have offered Bale £150k pw ( half what he could get at Real Madrid) he’d have stayed?
Kane won’t stay out of a sense of loyalty for whatever we offer him, if he wants to leave he will.
He will do what he and his family decide on doing.



Makes me laugh. The same lot who were rubbishing the bloke as championship fodder and claiming he had no place at Spurs now talk about his loyalty.

Sorry mate but we will never be able to match the salaries of Man City, PSG, UTd. Chelsea etc.
It will always happen as sure as players leave Liverpool and woolwich.
Benteke may get more but then the rest of their players are not on as much as ours.
We Pay £40m more on our wage bill.
I think our basic wages are heavily topped up with PR bonuses. Kane is probably earning more than Benteke.
They’ll have McArthur asking to double his salary to £100k if he continues to score more.

Based on my understanding of xG, shouldn’t Kane be outperforming that metric since he has much higher finishing capabilities than the average player taking a shot from that position on the pitch?

For instance, maybe the xG from 12 yards out is 0.25 but for Kane it should be 0.35 because he’s such a good striker?
 
Honestly the way we do our contracts now is about as good as it gets without seriously dropping coin. Decent weekly wage (which we up regularly with good play) long contracts with buyout clauses. All of which is supplemented with healthy appearance, clean sheet and goal bonuses.

All of that is obviously educated guess work and hearsay, but it's been on various websites and rags. Unless we get another couple of million per week to spend on wages, it's how its going to have to be.

He's probably on £100K basic, but apparently Levy loves performance bonuses...so once his goals bonus kicks in...

At this level, to be more than 10% better than your nearest rivals is staggering. Dickering about whether he’s world class at this point is just ridiculous, there’s no doubt at all.

Absolutely.
To turn it on it’s head, i’d be worried if the top clubs didn’t want our top players because it would mean our best weren’t very good. It’s inevitable that top players & transfers get talked about in papers because it err...sells papers.
We do tend to get more than our fair share of transfer speculation though & it does become tedious.
But of course RM & Barcelona would love to sign Kane. So would every other club in world football. He’s incredible.
What the club needs to do is keep him happy so he doesn’t ask for a move. And we really should move mountains for this lad.
 
The truth for us with Kane is that Levy needs to drop 175 grand per week on the table.

Kane will also get that in sponsorship.

Then give 120 per week to Alderweireld, Eriksen, Vertonghen and Alli.

Unbelievably extreme but our core.

Do that and we are set.
