My favourite away destination that I've done is probably Stoke. Out of the train station and escorted straight into the 'student union' (poxy little shithole that it is) - then escorted in buses from the SU to the ground. can get loads of beers in for cheap and it's a good laugh singing before the match. Wigan is really shit IMO, it may be cheaper than many other northern away games but it's a crap ground with no atmosphere and the away end is spread out with loads of people who don't wanna sing/stand up etc. I'm only commenting on the ones I've been to before. Chelsea is quality, but it's too expensive and I won't be heading back there until the price goes down (fat chance of that happening).

Honourable mention to Aston Villa and West Ham

True about Wigan re atmosphere.

Decent grounds for atmosphere and banter with home fans in no particular order: Woolwich, Chelsea, West Ham, Stoke, West Brom, Man City, Liverpool, Everton. Sunderland less good now that you are up in the gods and away from their hardcore fans, similar with Newcastle. Although this season we created a good atmosphere on our own at Sunderland (and by the sounds of it Newcastle, although I missed that one this year).

Having said that, these things depend a lot on the occasion, what the game is like etc. Burnley created a great atmosphere when we played them in the league cup semi.

The best 'day' depends on kick off time, travel method and allocation IMO. Wigan might be a decent Saturday 3pm with all your mates and a nice win but as a midweeker or a Sunday game it's a shocker in a souless noveau ground with no atmosphere.

The first Wigan away trip was legendary - I think everyone went. Immense banter throughout and Davids scored a cracker!

Best ground for me though is Goodison it is a beautiful site when full - This was a great day out for me... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/3689198.stm Didn't find out who had scored until I got home as my view (and the view of everyone around me) was so crap

My first away game, didn't see us win another one for a few years after that!

Another vote for Fulham this year. The away/neutral end was rocking, Chavs and Arse lost, 3 goals, Sandro, shame about the Arse***, nice ground by the river all within walking distance.

West Ham has got to my best away day this season, fantastic atmosphere throughout and biggest buzz I have ever felt when Bale's shot went in right at the death, to secure all three points.

Followed by: Villa away 0-4 & Fulham away 0-3 & the 1-2 victory over Chelscum on 08/05 (I live in hope).

Come on you Spurs!

One friendly request I feel should be enforced is for people to stop singing pony songs such as "He was born to play for Spurs..." & "Comeeee On Youuuu Spuuurrss" . Yawn.

It's all about "FUCK EM ALL, FUCK EM ALL, UNITED WEST HAM LIVERPOOL!". Aggressive, Passionate, and proper.

"Oh Dembele, He's a Yid" is also welcome.

I agree with the Bale song, but I love the caaahhhmm oonn yoouuuu spuuurrsssss! One of the only songs that almost everyone sings aswell bar Oh when the Spurs and maybe We are Tottenham

The bale song makes me cringe so much.

There is only two songs I wont sing at spurs and its;

- "Gareth Bale. He was born to play for Spurs." (No he fucking wasnt, we paid top dollars for him and he came to us..)

- "And its Tottenham Hotspur, Tottenham Hotspur FC. We're by far the greatest..." (Woolwich song. That is all they sing.)

Totally agree, I don't join in with the 'by far the greatest team' purely because of that reason

This season

Swansea away was quality, the train journey (about 30 Yids rocking the carriage for the last hour or so) and the pub beforehand was better than the game!

United was the best atmosphere without a doubt, singing all game (until the last 10 when we all had mini heart attacks). Hoping Chelsea will be the best.

If people sing 'Come on you Spurs' with enough ferocity that they feel their jugular vein throbbing then it is quality. At a corner or something like that, I'm sure it would give the players a lift as they have a momentary rest-bite from concentrating on the game.

'Come On You Spurs' has been around for decades and will never/shouldn't ever go away! When it rings around the whole stadium it's quality (as are most songs) and definitely a lift
