Watching him yesterday he seemed to be playing it safe with the ball, wish he had been give the OK to play with freedom to see what he can do, Conte must hear the supporters are on Spence's side, when he comes on he get a big cheer

Thought he played smart. We had a narrow 1-0 lead can you imagine they caught us out if he gone bombing forward Its very clear was doing exactly what Conte tells him. And with Conte that seems to matter more than going out and attacking the oponent. You start if you prove you get what he wants, look at Bissouma its taken a while.

I also recall that 2-2 with Liverpool Ndombele and Dele were forced to play due to injuries. They (Tanguy in particular ) opened up Liverpool but it was chaos. We got a result could have won it. But Conte did not enjoy it at all his patterns were non existent. He won't play you. Now we can have a conversation about if this much regimentation and back and sideways is what we want at Spurs but until Levy and Conte diverge....its what we are getting

At this point, wouldn't surprise me if he brings him on just to raise the fucking atmosphere.

Needs a loan if possible. If we sign a RB also need to sell one of the other 2, won't be easy
Hopefully that puts the “attitude problem” theory to bed

He wouldn't even make the bench if he was behaving like an arse, Conte won't suffer it and quite rightly.

Don't think the pennies dropped for him yet tactically, he looks a bit unsure of his position whenever he comes on. Conte clearly doesn't trust him enough yet, still think he can have a future here but maybe a loan will help him initially as it did Walker and Rose.

To get anywhere with Conte, Spence probably needs to show him that he can follow instructions - so with that in mind and the positive words post-match his performance on Saturday might be the best thing for him.

It is Conte and not the fans he needs to convince and playing safe probably is the right tactic unless we are behind. We really have not seen enough of him to judge and this time last season many of us were pushing for Rodon to play and yet do not hear that now.

It's possible the lad is nowhere near the standard.

People always want what they don't have, be it Rodon, Foyth, Ndombele, Scarlett, Spence etc.
Like the fans insist on seeing for themselves what the manager already knows, and until he has a stinker in front of 60,000, the myths and opinions about what we're missing will continue to grow.

When he does begin to start games it will be because he is ready to in the eyes on Conte. That's good enough for me.

Conte has only played the younger players lately because his hand has been forced, Spence would of only gotten a chance if Doc + Emerson was injured.

World cup winner Foyth who by all accounts is doing great in Spain...

Maybe the manager isn't always right.

Banter post.

He played 4 minutes in the world cup.
He is prone to the same fucks ups as he was here.
Even if he wasn't, that doesn't mean he hadn't been given a genuine chance here.

None of this helps his cause either:
